2000 meters to Andriivka
A film that has been highly acclaimed.
Filmed in 2023 it follows a small group of Ukrainian soldiers trying to, as per title, retake a Ukrainian village 2000 metres away, through a small corridor of non mined land. Counting down the metres at various points.
It's filmed like a story, mainly using the soldiers helmet Go pro footage & the cameraman following them, but interspersed with footage from drones & their command post as it happens.
Think of Warfare, but a live version, with a lot more happening. The lads involved are young, bright Europeans.
It's not entertaining, as that would be sick. It is riveting, heart wrenching, compelling viewing.
I had to watch it in 2 parts, as it got to me at the 1st viewing & I had to take a break.
I can remember watching Saving Private Ryan at the cinema and the feeling I had on watching it & the landing scene. This was that same feeling.
Saying it's the best thing I've watched in 2025, seems wrong, but it is.
Just watch it / 10, but get yourself prepared.

When the squad leader films himself in the morning saying virtually the same quote as in Fury, best job in the world & then gets killed, really hits home
