The fact you still need a hub to have users in access makes it a pricy doorbell. I woups like tp get rid of my ring and nuki keypad but woupd need both the doorbell and hub to thrn push an event to nuki.

What about using the API calls from Protect, granted it would probably need something like Home Assistant to sit in the middle, but it's another option.

This works, I use home assistant and protect exposes its AI detections, doorbell presses etc to it and the video feed if you want that.

I use it to trigger my outside lights in my garden to come on which are plugged into a smart outside socket (no PIR).

However, if PIR was an option for that application, I would just use that - keep it simple stupid and all that.

So it would be like connecting to your home network (using Teleport which I've always wondered what it was) when out and about? Very neat, can't watch the videos yet but would be great if it can handle all types of hotel WiFi and portals.

I was ready to try and order a UniFi Travel Router until I saw there's no internal battery.

I'm sure someone will design a printable thing that it can slip into that also holds an Anker power bank or similar. Internal batteries make shipping more difficult and adds cost and size even when people don't need a battery.

Just finished installing the UP Chime POE upstairs and downstairs, to replace the Honeywell series 9 doorbell and fairly happy with them. One thing I have noticed straight away is the lag which the Honeywell units have compared to the UP Chime, as it's now instant on press of the doorbell.

Probably shouldn't have installed them today, to be honest, but I am not going to get much of a chance till the weekend.

Now we wait on the G6 Pro Doorbell

G6 180 - UVC-G6-180

It looks like my box took a bit of a beating, but the camera is fine.
