NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Have you tried undervolting? It is much more effective with the 5090 than powerlimiting was with the 4090. It is incredibly easy to set up in MSI Afterburner. Takes a few minutes.
Not messed with any undervolting.

Would be happy to give it a go, as long as it doesent make anything unstable. Can you recommend any good guide videos on YT?

So new machine all built up.

The zotac solid core oc 5080 is one heck of a card.

Zero coil wine, 65c when under my typical gaming loads, and the fans are barely noticalble.

Touch wood, superb quality.

Good to see 5 year warranty too. Need to register it.

I learned you have to push those new 12V-2×6 connectors in properly. Wasted an hour checking other things lol.

Nice!, good temps on the GPU, I'm on the lookout for a 5080 with low temps and quiet, was tempted to go with the Asus Prime 5080 but your post is temping with the Zotac, also they do a white version which would suit my build a bit better!

Im day 2 of ownership. But it feels really good. Not tinkered with any settings yet to OC futher or undervolt it.

Tbh… it runs everything and is pretty cool and quiet, so my time ATM is better spent actually gaming.

Small annoyance. The zotac gold plate appears to be coated with a layer that dulls the gold.
Easy scratched when thinking it was just a bit of Fluff.

Take with a huge pinch of salt (both in terms of whether it's legit as I've never heard of the site or if it's a ploy to lessen the actual rise...) but...

Newsis: Nvidia and AMD to significantly increase GPU prices starting next month. Describes RTX 5090 increasing from $2000 to $5000

We knew already AMD we're goig to raise prices but by something like 10% I seem to recall?
A doubling in price? That sounds unrealistic. However, if it it does happen then woohoo, my 5090 resale value will git gud for when the RTX6090 arrives for $8000!

Price of Nvidia' are already raising, got my Asus 5070Ti Prime ordered placed on boxing day, the price on Monday when it is shipped already increased from GBP700 to 750, and I see a consistent trend across different SKUs, not just the one I got, the cheapest increased from ~GBP675 to ~700 in last couple of days, on the other hand, 5060Ti 16GB production cut rumor seems to be true, Japan is now "rationing" the sales of 5060Ti 16GB to 1 per customer, and I can see more SKUs in UK are now out of stock.

As for AMD, the cheapest I could find for Asus 9070XT Prime was GBP 557 (565 - 8 discount voucher) on Amazon, now the cheapest is GBP575, not a big jump, but I can see further hikes is coming, for those who have plan to upgrade in next 12 months (at least), it is better to act sooner than later.....

people forget its the worst few months of sales for the next two months let them try and guage the prices...still got to sell em at retailers. when everyones skint and not buying. gg. also on steam it shows most people arent playing new games only 14 percent playing games from 2025. so more expensive ram ssds gpus haha and worst period of the year for sales. no real games out to test new hardware either. battlefields flopped what you need a new gpu for ? sales will happen or gpus wont get sold. :p

DIY community buy or not is no longer a concern to SK Hynix, Samsung, Micron or Nvidia, the massive demands from AI will eat them like breakfast (in fact 5090 face shortage because the chips (GB202) are reallocated to be used for RTX PRO 6000/5000 Blackwell), the first rule of boycott is not to boycott yourself......
