Lost my love of gaming :(

I lost my love of gaming until that is a bought a steam deck . I have played so many games I would have never played on my desktop and for me it’s been the best purchase I have made in a long time

I'm replaying Half Life 2 on my PC at the moment and have really got back into the story line. I've also never played through Episode 1, 2 or Lost Coast. Looking forward to playing those.

Reason I switched to an old PC game is because I'm completely bored of gaming on my Series X.

I also go through phases of watching films instead of gaming.

Playing online with friends helps.

I have 300+ hours on half-life 2 having replayed it over and over again since release l there is something special about the game I just love

Long work hours and life problems etc . Just never had the urge to sit hunched over a desk playing games plus most games today just no longer appeal to me anymore

What's it like for strategy type games, Manor Lords, City builders, that kind of thing, if you play that sort of game?

I’m actually thinking about selling or at least boxing up my ps5 pro soon.
I hardly game on my console, I tend to prefer my pc especially msfs simming.

Just games in general are boring me a lot.

Im curious how do you play through HL2 again and again? I thought it was a linear story?
I ask because Im playing through it right now (after having completed Black Mesa - Super game that one by the way).

ive felt like that in the past, for me its the decline of aaa gaming and the roulette of if a games gonna launch good or not. I try to go for aaa games that I know usually are good like yakuza games etc but tend to spend my money more on indie and aa games. a lot of indie games id happily spend double the money on.

spent like £40 on second hand games- nada, I just can't get gripped by them. Now a £3 game on sale on Xbox and somehow managed to find enjoyment from that. Some card game.

I play though it once a year without fail .it has magic that very few games today can replicate which brings me back to it time and time again
My steam account will be 22 years old this year that’s when i started playing the game as it was my first steam purchase which came in a shiny metal box with a t shirt which I think is still in my loft somewhere
