No way. I just strapped an Alpenfohn Peter to my R9 290.
Some advice on the VRM temps. Four small heatsinks work better than a big one with the right airflow when Uncle Petey Tested it with the similar Peter cooler.
Maybe a T shape VRM Heatsink for the Tripple VRM.
With the Right VRM sinks...
Try re-mounting your cooler with a good paste, It worked for me.
I use the seidon 120v which is a £30 water cooler in a pull config and when I first installed it the temps were hitting the 80's for even a 4ghz overclock.
Now after I remounted it and changed to the line method with mx-4 I can...
So I got it all set up and managed to get 4.4ghz with a 1.2vcore but the temperatures were going into the 80's.
I thought this was just the cooler not being good enough or haswell being so hot. So I re-mounted the cooler with the same mx-4 paste and the temps have miraculously improved...
With my r9 290 I noticed that when my gpu went over 70c it would start to throttle down from my stock speed of 975mhz to what ever it wanted to in it's own crazy mind.
Just today installed the Alpenfohn Peter Universal with a few quiet fans and some inspiration from Uncle Petey's experience...
I use the DGX for my pc with the ATH M50 headphones.

You should spend most of your budget on headphones/drivers, follow it up with a good...
Same issue here, never done an RMA before.
How is an RMA tested?
If I send my R9 290 in and they can't get it to "black screen" which is so random do I end up getting my faulty card back?
If you don't use a microphone I would recommend the Audio Technica ATH M50 for closed Headphones, They sound the most true for a sealed headphone.
I'm not sure about open.
You could try demo pairs in a sound store.
If you can push the extra £24 you could get the Audio Technica ATH M50. The difference that £24 could make is just worth it.
Try to Demo them in a store I promise you.
Best Budget Claw Grip/Small Hand = CM Storm Xornet
Best Budget Palm = The Gigabyte ones, one of them is better than the others but I'm not sure which revision it is.
To the OP:
I am doing the same thing as you and I have been there 3 weeks, it wouldn't be that bad if we were paid more but sadly I'm doing 40 hours a week of walking for a whole £10 extra than if I wasn't working because I live with my partner and have no children.
I must be entitled to...
