    NVIDIA 4000 Series

I suppose it depends on how you do it but I can't hear my pump at all - not over case fans for example. It's pretty easy to isolate the noise (or it has been for me). The voiding thing is always a fun debate but something I've lived with for years (although my current WB was prefitted for the...

BROWSE THE NVIDIA RTX 4000 SERIES AT OcUK !!

Whilst searching this morning I found something that may cheer you up - another retailer made this price *drop* in the early hours: Price decrease from £98,765.00 to £1,849.99 BARGAIN!

BROWSE THE NVIDIA RTX 4000 SERIES AT OcUK !!

I wouldn't pony up for an ebay one - no warranty and even worse on pricing... And yes morally very wrong indeed.

BROWSE THE NVIDIA RTX 4000 SERIES AT OcUK !!

Really? Thanks for sharing that nugget! Have they made a statement like that? (sorry i'm gonna google it now..)

BROWSE THE NVIDIA RTX 4000 SERIES AT OcUK !!

Absolutely. Alphacool make the block - and yes it's really cheap compared to what EK are up to (honestly it's madness) - and it fits every inno3d 4090 according to their fitment guide. Still, the 'basic' inno card on OC lists at 2k (up from ~1750 pre launch) on OC. Of course inno will say...

BROWSE THE NVIDIA RTX 4000 SERIES AT OcUK !!

I've been watching the listing for the ichill frostbite - seemed 'ok ish' at 2k given the cost of a waterblock (yeah ok they're not fitting the air cooler) but looks like another 600 quid plus has been added at launch.. Have to agree, feels like scalping - i get people need to make a profit...

EK DDC 3.2 PWM pump not starting

I've had the same thing happen (holy thread resurrection). However, wrinkle, I bough the pump in 2016 and due to various life issues didn't build until six months ago with it. Same symptom - doesn't initially start (and thanks) tapping helps it get going. EK Water Blocks EK-XTOP DDC 3.2...

First set of RAM I had was QVL - didn't work. Similar experience!

The value in watercooling a gpu?

Where did I quote *you*? :) Nor am I implying you should do it (or anyone if you re-read my post) - my point was for me the noise is intolerable (on air), the drop in heat for GPUs in particular is massive (which has it's benefits) and it's frankly quite fun to build. I also said it's...

First time building a Ryzen system and it's not going well....

I did the same - bought approved RAM. First set of corsair - all four sticks in - no post. Removed all but one posted. Then found that one of the four sticks stopped it posting. I have a lot of confidence when I put this set in my mates intel system tomorrow it will be flawless. Second set...

First time building a Ryzen system and it's not going well....

You probably haven't killed anything - AMD systems + memory = lots of 'fun' I don't have your board but it's likely you are suffering from (very common) memory issues with Ryzen - I had lots of fun with my system trying to get it to post at all with memory that was on the approved list for it...

The value in watercooling a gpu?

Interesting discussion - a few points. Fans for WC are likely to be running slow (this is after all the point) so the discussion on whether WC draws more power based on fans alone is, frankly, odd. Over and above air you have a pump - that's it. Personally I'd say this isn't worth discussing...

The value in watercooling a gpu?

You get big temp drops on water vs air - dramatically so for GPUs (vs CPUs) if done right. For me it's about noise, stability and also moving all the heat outside the case (my quad rad is external). It's also a lot of (expensive) fun :D

    Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

I know what you mean - death feels like a proper punishment in that sense (waiting for the reload) - but but it seamlessly streams as you move across the map. The only oddity i've noticed so far is when you have mission where you go into a building for a short cut scene which means load to go...

    Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Seriously impressed not only by the game but the level of support it's getting - had a raz on it yesterday and noticed there was suddenly a new skill that makes assassinated bodies magically disappear :D

    Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

I'm trying a steel mesh strap with magnetic fastener - i like it because it's much slimmer than a buckle on the wrist and it looks pretty good too. Of course it's more adjustable which is nice. I definitely prefer it to the silicone strap...

    Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

Hmmmm so far the only big annoyance is the lack of a dedicated email app on the GW - and this seems to be the case if you don't have a corresponding Samsung phone (are samsung just trying to be as annoying as apple?). This is a problem since the gmail app notifications from my phone only...

    Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

LG G6 - EE say only Samsung devices work (that's the official line) which doesn't make sense since Samsung just insist on a minimum android version. I suspect the software side is being updated in the background since I was expecting a whole fight to setup my watch.

    Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

I followed the basic setup proceedure - everything worked perfectly aside from having to select the mobile network on my watch settings and being prompted for a reboot. I have 4g on the watch. Happy! I didn't really have to arse about at all - i installed the wearable app from play and it did...
