Sigh - same problem I reported last year in this thread. Even sent Netgear logs, details, plots and ran diagnostic tests for them After 2 months I gave up and returned the unit. In my case it appeared to be down to bit swapping and bins being marked as unusable during noisey times (evenings)...
Taking the average S/N for both down and up, you should be getting more from your line. It looks like you may have been capped possibly due to the disconnects/resyncs? Your download figure is around 9dB rather than 6dB.
Noise margin will drop with any modem/router when noise increases. The question is - does it recover the S/N during the day. Just leave it up and running for a few days..
When rebooting or unplugging always leave 30 mins between powering down and powering back up. DLM will not see this as a line drop/ retrain reason.
The last update i had from netgear was that it was a Broadcomm issue and they were looking into it. Remember, this product has a new chipset...
If your S/N does not recover back to 6dB and continues to drop over time then yes you have the same issue. It would be interesting to see your Bit loading graph shortly after rebooting your router compared with after a few days when your S/N has dropped. I suspect some of your bins are being...
It seems to be behaving well, its given me a slight increase in speed on the upstream (6.8M rather than 6.3M), downstream is still 25M as my line has been capped at this value. S/N varies over time but is always around 6dB.
I cant work out how to unlock this modem to access telnet. I have...
I had the D7000 and had issues with dropping S/N over time (see posts in this thread). In the end it went back for refund. Been using the D7800 now for several weeks and it have actually given me a slight increase in upload. S/N is also behaving. Im on an ECI cabinet. It is also nice to get wifi...
If it is the same issue I had then rebooting during the day will not affect your line speed and will return your s/n to 6db. This is the first question you will get from netgear. I can only see 4 days on mydslstats -what was the s/n when you first turned it on? I'm not sure whether Dlm checks...
The netgear guy was really supportive the issue appears to be with the new Broadcom chipset or drivers apparently. In the end I returned it and went back to my billion. As I seemed to be the only one with the issue I don't think much pressure was put onto them. At the end of the day how many...
You have the same problem I had. Just go back through this thread and look at my posts. Your s/n started around 6db and has been dropping at night. Over time your s/n is not recovering (same issue I had) which eventually means your s/n drops very low. I sent loads of data off to netgear who...
Its going back. The response from Broadcomm was to reboot the device when the noise is high - hardly a fix. Credit however to Netgear for their support.
After 7 days, this is what my S/N is !

Still waiting on an answer from Broadcom. Looks like i'm going to have to return this unit and go back to my trusty billion.
This graph shows the S/N over time for both the Billion and the Netgear D7000. You can clearly see the S/N varying with the Billion over time, but when using the Netgear it is only a downward trend. A power cycle returns the S/N to 6dB, but over time it drops to around 3dB...
Debug information has now been sent to Broadcom via Netgear for analysis. It would appear my issue could be on broadcoms side rather than netgear itself - isn't the D7000 using a new broadcom chipset? Wil keep you guys posted. I would provide graphs but i can not see how to add attachements on...
