Even as a 1080ti owner, I am not ready to sacrifice performance by jumping to 4K. I currently own a nice Viewsonic XG2703-GS 165hz G-sync monitor and I will only replace for an HDR if it is the same resolution. Am I out of luck?
I am currently a 1080ti (Sea Hawk) owner. I generally upgrade twice a year, once to the new top tier card, and then the 'ti' version. I guess there is no point in me upgrading to the non 'ti' 2080 card this time round?
I haven't overclocked my 1080ti Sea Hawk for about 8 months. I recently overclocked it again to the same clock speeds and it crashes whilst gaming. Apart from upgrading my cpu from the i7 7700k to the i7 7800k. My only other change is from going from a 1080p monitor to a 1440p one.
My question...
My first delidded cpu by 8 pack had an issue and hit 100c with every stress test. My replacement is so much much better. I started at 5.0 @ 1.35v and stressed tested down to 1.3v and it is still perfectly stable at roughly 65c. I will be continuing the testing this evening. Now should I keep...
Thanks, much appreciated. I must admit, I was getting quite concerned. First it was high temps from a delidded cpu, then a major system issue caused just by yanking the power from the pump. Having built PC's for many years I still couldn't pin point what that had done to my PC. I was lucky a...
Well I finally resolved the issue, although I still don't know what caused it. My rad is in the roof and my 1080ti is the Sea Hawk with the fan in the rear. You were correct about knowing if the pump had failed. I removed the power from the pump when in the desktop, and within 3 minutes the temp...
I must apologise, I missed out an important bit of information. I am running at 5.0 at 1.35v delidded. The paste is fine, it is new (thermal Grizzly).
I will try unplug the sata power cable to the pump and see what happens to the temps.
Thanks again for the advice. I am getting about 30-32 degrees when idle and 75-80 degrees when stress testing with Realbench. My i7 8700k has been delidded by 8pack. I have reapplied paste a couple of times. I know if I have had my system down for some time, I hear a little 'sloshing around'...
Thanks, it is about 12 months old. I have had my system sat for a couple of months while upgrading a few parts and I have only just started using it again. I haven't checked the rad temperature but I did hold both pipes, mainly to feel any kind of vibration whilst changing the pump speeds from...
I am getting terrible cooling all of a sudden on my i7 8700k. The temps are really high when stressing. The fans work fine. I looked at the Corsair Link software and there are two speed settings for the pump, quiet and Performance. I can't hear or feel a thing (if i touch the unit) when I go...
You are correct, something is wrong with this chip. I tried Prime95 version 26.6 and the latest version 29.5 and I had to crank the voltage to 1.4v for all 3 tests. The temps were 100 degrees on every stress test on both Prime95 versions. I tried reseating the cpu and re-applied the Kryonaut...
Not long received my i7 8700k 5.0 delidded cpu from 8 pack and I have been testing it thoroughly. I am using the Maximus X Code, the Corsair H115i cooler with the 280mm rad and the Kryonaut thermal grease.
The only bios settings changed was to enable the XMP profile and set all cores to 50. I...
Looking at the store page for the new pre-binned 5.1ghz cpu's. It doesn't show any details like what voltage was used to achieve this etc. When I bought my pre-binned 7700k it had a detailed write up on the store page with voltage settings for the OC. Will this info be updated for the new cpu's...
Apologies for the delay. Here is a link, scroll to the bottom -
