The I haven't properly upgraded for over 10 years project...

Looks good to me (although seeing as my PC's nearly 3 years old, I'm behind the times) Hope you have time to put it together soon. Keep us updated on your progress.

My first new monitor in 9 years, please help me pick one.

    Hi All. I've got a late 2017 Overclockers' Gladiator Specs are as follows. 8700K @ 4.9GHz | Asus Strix Z370-F | 2x8GB Team Nighthawk RGB 3200 | Asus GTX 1070 | Currently I'm running that set-up into a 2011 Asus 24" 1080p monitor - yes I know it's overkill for the monitor. I was bought a...

Are these two different sets of Team Group compatible,

Thanks spirits247 Okay, this is more complicated than I thought it was. It's a good job I got your advice first. I've got an Asus Strix Z370-F, with an i7-8700K overclocked to 4.9GHz, I get the impression that the best thing for me to do is: Buy a 32GB kit, and replace the 16GB with that, and...

Are these two different sets of Team Group compatible,

I asked in pre-sales advice last week, but so far no-one has answered me, so I'm hoping the community can help me out. My OCUK PC from 2017, has this installed: Team Group Night Hawk RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Which I think may still be sold here, however, when I...

Is It Worth Upgrading From a 34-Inch 3440x1440 60Hz Monitor For Non-Competitive Games?

Hi, hope I can jump in on this for some advice, particularly as @NikTheSHNIK posted in here: I've got a GTX1070Turbo, and when I got my PC, I intended to buy a better monitor than my current 16:9 1080p 24" Asus, to take advantage of it - due to house reorganisation, that didn't happen as...

    Random Tearing/Flickering

Thanks eeii. Presumably then, what I am facing is not 'tearing' as it does it even when I'm doing something as simple as browsing the internet, sometimes the image either appears with a random chunk 'missing' or out of sync with the rest of the image.

    Random Tearing/Flickering

Hi All. I have an Asus GTX 1070 Turbo, and recently I have been experiencing some issues which I assume are being caused by it. Since last July it has been connected to a 37" TX-L37G10P 1080p LCD from circa 2010. Recently I have noticed issues in which the screen experiences what I assume is...

Need a biggish monitor I can use for gaming; Amazon Prime, and Freesat.

Hi I need your expert help. Due a house reorganization, I'm looking at replacing my trusty 8 year old ASUS VS247. I've moved the PC into a new room in which I only really have space for 1 TV/Monitor. Temporarily I have plugged my PC into my Panasonic 37" LCD, circa 2009 - but you can probably...

Odd one: where to put PC?

What's the desk made from? You may get away with bolting the brackets if you can put some nice big washers in to spread the load. However, I'd be inclined to either add a leg as Tupro suggested, or possibly an extra bracket screwed to the wall if there's one behind the desk. The last thing you...

Windows installer in Windows 10 not working

Well, I have some good news - I ended up doing a fresh install and update of Windows 10 - which so far appears to have fixed the Windows installer issue. Unfortunately, now my "CBS.log" file grows to 126Gb and it appears it only stops growing because it runs out of disk space on my "C" drive...

Windows installer in Windows 10 not working

Looks like Macrium something I need to look at buying. This is to be fair the first issue I've had, across 2 Desktops and 2 Laptops, with Windows 10 since it first came out - it would be on my newest PC wouldn't it?

Windows installer in Windows 10 not working

Thanks zola25 Sadly, the in-place upgrade didn't fix it either. All I can think of now is rollback to a restore point if I still have one, or fresh install of Windows 10. I'll ask support if they have any ideas before proceeding.

Getting a legit Office 2016? How to ensure digital download versions are genuine?

I bought one of the 2012 Case C‑128/11 of the ECJ compliant resale copies of Office 2016 Professional from an Amazon marketplace seller for a whopping £8, working well so far. So far as I can understand it, once Microsoft originally sold it, they handed over its rights of sale to the new owner...

Windows installer in Windows 10 not working

Hi The windows installer in my lovely Overclockers PC has decided to stop working, I have tried everything suggested by Microsoft in their thread here, to no avail. Before I give up and follow the final suggestion from Peter Bali of performing a clean install of Windows. has anyone else...

    CoffeeLake Stock 6th? Cooler Question

I'm so glad I ordered my Germanium last Thursday rather than waiting for the stock to arrive; after 6 months using a 6 year old Ultrabook, I'm not sure how long my sanity can last.

    ** WHAT'S OVER 47 INCHES LONG AND IS SMOOTH TO THE TOUCH? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) **

Is there a shorter one, my desk's only 110cm (2 and a half XL?)- I accept this means my performance is not likely to improve by 379%, the wife will just have to cope.
