    i7-13700KF upgrade

You'd gain 4 E-Cores at least.., but I'm sure you know already the 'upgrade' is very mild. Do you have a spare graphics card, even some old thing like a GT 710?

    New Build Advice

There's nothing wrong with your choices, but I think it really depends on why you're getting the PC and what it is being used for. I'm normally with @tamzzy on any new build, you should get the maximum performance first and the looks second. To be more explicit, the difference between gaming...

    New Build Advice

FYI: The main things to be aware of are the case and the graphics card. They're the ones that can add A LOT to your build cost. For graphics, the Strix model can easily be 30% or more above the regular retail price and for the case, it costs double (or more) than a standard case that can cool...

    Cooling 12900k

What do you do with the PC? Most of the recent i7/i9 CPUs will reach silly temps in Cinebench when they're power unlimited even with great cooling.

    New Build Advice

The included case fans should be sufficient. The CPU can be cooled with a ~£35 Phantom Spirit, so you certainly don't need a £200 AIO! Suggested changes to save money, if you can accept the TUF branding instead of the Strix branding: My basket at OcUK: 1 x AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core...

    Upgrade family PC?

The 5600X is Vermeer, it never had the IGP from the Cezanne CPUs. This is always the safest option, 4 sticks may or may not work (and if it does work, it is likely to need more tuning).

Asus issues BIOS update to solve Intel CPU game crashing.

It is hard to know exactly who to blame for this (like where in the pipeline the problem is), like if you look @ Intel's slides when they released new CPUs they do have a table for base and turbo power and that is how they're listed on Intel Ark, but yet you go to a retailer and see TDP: 65 (or...

Asus issues BIOS update to solve Intel CPU game crashing.

I believe MCE only allows the cores to boost to the max single core turbo multiplier, I don't think it has any impact on the length of the boost itself. I'm pretty sure TAU has been infinite for K CPUs since 12th gen *link, but even if it isn't, I'd expect someone like Asus to be setting it as...

NVME or Solid State for gaming?

Weird, the BIOS versions and dates appear to be different between these pages and in the OP's CPU-Z screenshot that BIOS version and date doesn't seem to exist either. I don't think I'd update it unless it was 100% necessary, though in theory the software should reject an update for an...

    Gaming/Photo Editing PC Upgrade Advice

I'd imagine that nvidia's studio/professional drivers are more developed too and I don't know if there are differences in the colour defaults and options that they apply compared to the gaming drivers.

Help an AMD newb to do it the right way (Windows + drivers)

I suspect what's happening is what Orcvader has suggested, that you're getting a conflict with the IGP. The driver I linked you was meant for the 7900 XT and would likely be too old to support the IGP in your CPU.

    Gaming/Photo Editing PC Upgrade Advice

My working assumption is that for 3D work nvidia is best, but for 2D you can go either, but that's just something I got from watching this guy: https://www.youtube.com/@theTechNotice So, I'd suggest the OP watch some reviews that cover their software before they buy a XTX :)

Asus issues BIOS update to solve Intel CPU game crashing.

:cry: Afaik, that's not what is happening here. Intel has a spec of two things for their power ratings: PL1 and PL2. PL1 is the baseline speed and that aligns with the TDP, then PL2 aligns with the max turbo speed under heavy workloads. Asus (and most other manufacturers on their high-end...

    Reliability of in game benchmarking.

I don't have this game, so in this case I have no idea, but keep in mind that these things often need to be updated to make meaningful recommendations and may not recognise your hardware properly when everything you own was released several years after the game.

New Pre-Built PC - Advice Received - Double Check before purchase.

To be fair, a decent QLC drive can perform pretty well and they can even have rated endurance similar to TLC, so they're not an issue for e.g. a games storage drive, but with such low endurance it suggests they have very low confidence in the longevity of the drive (& the flash used), so I'm not...

New Pre-Built PC - Advice Received - Double Check before purchase.

Newmaxx's spreadsheet says it is likely to be QLC in 1TB/2TB capacity (WD's datasheet concurs) and the rated endurance is an unbelievably awful 100 TBW in the 2TB capacity. I'd get the cheaper (£113) SN580 which is guaranteed to be TLC and has 9x (!!!!!) the rated endurance in the 2TB capacity.

NVME or Solid State for gaming?

If you download hwinfo64 portable, it should tell you what you need to know, alternatively grab the motherboard model from CPU-Z. It is an old system at this point, so you might not have anything in the M.2 slot. Most games don't care which type of SSD you have, but it is getting hard to find...

    Passive CPU cooling

The main problem with modern CPUs is that while they might have a TDP of e.g. 65 watt, when they are fully loaded they can use massively more power and will overwhelm most passive coolers, while cooking the VRM if you don't have any airflow. You'd likely need to stay with CPUs on the lower-end...
