Hi All
Sorry to bump an old thread, the works mentioned above saw no improvement is my FTTC estimate speed.
But a few days ago i noticed my ADSL speed jumped from 5.5m/b up to 9m/b. Tested on various downloads (4.57GB on Newsgroups with an average of 1087Kb/s yesterday)
Not seen any road works...
Just checked road works.org and BT have road works planned next to my cabinet for 31st January
Here is what is says
Access will be required to underground structures to provide new fibre connection in existing duct....
So I may still see an improvement
Hi the line is underground
Postcode is S75 4DE
Just put it in google maps and I am 1.2 mile from the cabinet
So around 1800 metres, that is following the the road

Your estimated speed is 2-6 Mb, with a guaranteed speed of 1 mb

Hi All
Thought i better update this thread with a few progress pictures.
Work was about 2 weeks late starting.
Raised beds all built,
Walls starting to take shape, with steps up
All wiring going in for all the lighting
New liner installed in pond, thought we might as well while...
It is just a case of waiting for the landscaping team to start
Once they start they have said it will be around a two week job, just want them to get started now before the weather starts to turn.
Also got the K7 premium Eco from the rainforest when they were on offer, if I remember correctly it was £296
Amazing pressure washer
The rain forest tends to have sales on karchers about every 2 months
Hi all
Small update
We have laid another brand new run of SWA 10mm electric cable at the other side of the garden and is all wired up ready to go. It was buried 600mm deep and then covered with sand. Then on top of that we laid 25mm MDPE water pipe, this is the conduit for the cat 6. Then ran...
i am going to run it into a faceplate in the summerhouse, and then that to a switch.
The cable is external grade direct burial Cat6, and it will be in conduit as well, so should be all good on that front.
Right guys
Cat6 cable will be laid up the garden now

We have decided to have the top end of our garden landscaped.
The reason are less maintenance and to generally tidy up some parts. And make other parts more manageable.
Here are some shots from a few months ago
Right the 2 greenhouses and the shed will be...
Just to add guys I only get 8mb internet.
No fibre for me, we live in the middle of the countryside, so speed of the network isn't really an issue.
This will only be used for tablets and laptops browsing etc
I think I may go with the burial of some armoured direct burial cable, all the top end of the garden is been dug up anyway so getting the cable there will be no problem
What is the best type of cable for this, seen some direct burial stuff on the rain forest doesn't seem that expensive, 20 quid...
