    Look at the OnePlus Pad - it is a 5x7 format 10" Android tablet - perfect for reading. I have one and it runs nicely. They can be picked up, possibly with stylus and keyboard/mouse folio, for around the £400 mark

    If you are worried about snapping the port, have a look at the usb-c magnetic adapters - a little nub goes in the port and a magnetic connector snaps to that - similar to the apple magsafe system

    Know nothing about China, but I do know that Sygic have offline maps for China - not sure how accurate though! Maybe someone can check them out for you? Can get a year's subscription for around £12
