Cooler Master Tempest GP27Q - Buy or not to buy

I`ve been considering upgrading from a Dell S2716DG (TN Panel) to a newer IPS monitor. The Alienware AW2723DF seemed to be a good choice, but a review that I read today mentioned the GP27Q as possibly a better alternative. I was very tempted to order one until I read about the firmware issues...

    New GPU Which one?

If you aren't looking to replace your monitor before your next GPU upgrade, RTX4070ti is the best option in my opinion.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

As much as I wanted the 4070ti to be cheaper (and hopefully it will eventually come down in price, no thanks to me !), I buckled last week and bought one. My GTX1070 has given me about 6 years good service, and was going to be replaced with a 3080, but scalping/mining put a stop to that. The...

When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

What do you think of the 4070Ti?

It also fits the bill perfectly for me (still managing with a GTX1070). I think it boils down to the fact crypto mining has ended, yet Nvidia and AMD think that gamers have been conditioned into to paying £extra for a new GPU. I'm trying my best to resist buying a 4070Ti, despite being the...

What do you think of the 4070Ti?

Your dilemma seems small compared to my dilemma...... I have a GTX1070 just about running on my 27" 1440p G-Sync monitor. I was going to upgrade to an RTX 3070/80, but mining etc made me decide to wait. I waited patiently, and the mining industry ended. We now have a graphics card, the RTX4070Ti...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

My tree has quite a lot of branches and leaves. My PC is still running a GTX1070, and I don't buy the new shiny thing, hence the numerous leaves. I'm going to leave the RTX4090 on the branch.

NVIDIA HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT - GPU PRICE CUTS AT OcUK!

I typed "bargain" (in quotation marks). I not been tricked. I used a touch of sarcasm. :)

NVIDIA HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT - GPU PRICE CUTS AT OcUK!

When RTX 30xx prices started to rise rapidly after their launch, I had a feeling that I was going to skip this generation. Now prices are falling to "bargain" levels, I'm still skipping this generation. Well, a 3070 for £200 might just tempt me. If not let's see how much a 4070/80 will be.

    30xx Series Founders Edition

Same here, and I'm still on a 1070. I`ve been picking up slightly "old" games dirt cheap, and they run great on my setup. I would have bought an RTX3070/80 at msrp, but the price rises put me off. I've skipped another generation, and I'm now glad that I did. Far Cry 6, AC Valhalla (current...

    Possible Faulty GPU

This brings back (very bad) memories of a graphics card upgrade I did about 10 years ago. Absolute nightmare to diagnose. Turned out to be the GPU despite everything pointing to something else. GPU was eventually repaired by Gigabyte, but had trouble with it when I upgraded my motherboard and...

Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

I have built a fair few basic PCs for customers over the past decade or so, and just a few gaming rigs. It's frustrating that I`ve had a couple of enquiries for gaming rigs recenty that I`ve had to turn away. I advised both potential customers to buy a pre-build, one of which actually did. I...

Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

Not me. If I ever upgrade (if sanity returns) it's going to be a massive upgrade. In the meantime my Palit GTX1070 is still handling the games I missed very well, and those games are costing next to nothing.

Why GPU prices are NOT likely to drop significantly EVER!

I'm helping the current price drops by not buying a new graphics card. No need to thank me if you got a "bargain" recently. ;)

    Well done OCUK!

Well done OCUK for selling a graphics card ?

Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

I've given up. My GTX1070 is about due for replacement, but it's still doing a decent job with the older titles that I'm still playing, or yet to play. As long as it doesn't develop a fault I'm quite happy to not have the hassle of trying to find a new GPU and spending £loads to get it. In fact...

How are people with 3000 series cards faring with PSU usage?

Google it. Seems like a common issue. I once used a (cheaper) Corsair PSU in a build for a customer. Had to replace it due to coil whine.

How are people with 3000 series cards faring with PSU usage?

    :D How's your RTX3080 btw ? Any problems with your PSU ? I'm thinking dreaming of getting a 3080, and I have a similar 650w PSU.

How are people with 3000 series cards faring with PSU usage?

You did, I was just pointing out that they are both important. It's not quite as simple as quality over wattage though, as a top quality 500w PSU isn't suitable if it's going to be used with a 600w load.

How are people with 3000 series cards faring with PSU usage?

Not many PSUs would be "blown" if overloaded. Decent PSUs have overload protection which shuts down the power supply if it is loaded beyond safe limits. Obviously there will be a few cases of PSUs going "pop", simply because they develop a fault. It's true that a heavily loaded PSU is slightly...
