Heinz Tomato Ketchup... is it just me?

reggae reggae sauce for the win, i just got some of this stuff from safeway, and i can easily say i wont be using ketchup as my main sauce anymore! :D awesome stuff

Yeah I tried that for the first time this month. All it is though is a HP fruity sauce with a bit of chilli.

I prefer the reggae reggae ketchup.

Dont know if anyone else remembers this but was'nt Heinz tommy sauce one of the products that was being copied by Osama Bin Ladens minions and smuggled into the country ? I have a distinct memory of seeing a reporter on tv news blowing the gaff on this and standing infront of a table full of everyday products that were all copies of the original.
I know tobacco was the primary knock off but many other things like red bull and smirnoff vodka were there.
So it may be that the OP inadvertantly got sold an immitation of Heinz ketchup and thats why he noticed a taste difference.

Upon the event of a new bottle of Tommy K, I would take the foil lid off and pour the content of the top out....like yellow gunky stuff. Then shake and it's fine.

Nah, it just seems thicker in a glass bottle than it does in a squeeze bottle becasue it's thixotropic. That means that, in essence, its viscosity varies as a function of time under stress. Look it up, it's interesting chemistry and materials science.

Interesting point.
So if someone with a squeazy bottle were to unscrew the top and pour it out, it should be just as thick. Yes?

Any one care to try? :)

something i have taken a liking to recently, is the Dragon thai sweet chilli sauce. that stuff is awesome

Heinz Tomato Ketchup is the best thing since sliced bread, buttered sliced bread infact.

Not noticed a change in consistency to be honest, and I consider myself a Heinz Tomato Ketchup connoisseur :D

I absolutely abhor ketchup but I do dish it out to the kids and there is a definate difference between the two.

The biggest  though, is the price difference between the 2 and Tesco seem to be only stocking the big squeezy bottles and not the glass ones. Next time you buy ketchup, have a look at the price difference. It's shocking.
