Bully.
Mercenaries 2.
Lost planet.
Just Cause ( driving/riding a bike on keyboard was just impossible).
Halo 2 ( it ran so **** it was unbelievable, it ran poorer on a geforce 6800gs than a bloody geforce 2 that was in the xbox... Also iirc had poor controls and very small FoV).
Sega rally revo :
Ran crap on poorer gfx than the top gfx cards, looked crap in comparison to other driving games, poor multiplayer ( lag lag lag & terribly worked out collisions ) and impossible to drive on my kb... It's very enjoyable to drive on my joypad but on KB it's just impossible without analogs imo, pc games must be optimized for mouse and kb...

Possibly much more but these spring to mind atm.

If after applying some of these mods (after official patch 1.1) you think this game still looks bad (compared to the other versions) then you need glasses & an eyetest as the PC version only lacks the realtime lighting & cutscenes of the Gamecube (no other version got those) but makes up for that with a pretty Fake HDR mod & Ultra High Res textures & Enhanced Cut Scenes.

High Res Cutscenes:

100s of other mods as well for Weapons, Character Skins, Sound,Environment, Animations & many more:

The games roots are 2004/5 so it obviously suffers from low res artwork in general but at least the PC looks pretty good after a little bit of downloading some of these mods you get a very pretty looking and cheap game which still has all the high review scoring console gameplay.

You obviously should not have to but at least it can be improved whereas put on the PS2 version even on a PS3 upscaled looks terrible nowadays on a HDTV.

Few PC RE4 Screenshots

1920x1200 16xAF 24xAA. Max gfx. With the following mods installed:

Fake HDR
High Res Environment Textures
High Res Door Textures

Even with just these 3 mods installed the gfx are the best on this game of any version by far.

Clive barkers Jericho was pretty appalling, i only got halfway through the demo before i gave up and uninstalled. Terrible graphics, controls and stupid minigames.

That's not because it was a bad port though, it was just a crap game :)

Resi 4 is typically cited as such a poor port because it was a great game on the consoles but was ruined in the porting process to PC.

The best are games where you can't actually quit, you have to ctrl-alt-delete or alt-f4 the game to leave, because you don't need to leave on the console versions.

Is Resi like that as well? :p

Yes. Unsurprisingly, the manual does not contain this information, because the manual is written for the PS2. I spent a little while online, having tabbed out of RE4, looking for the way to quit. I didn't even consider the possibility of a game being made so incompetently that there wasn't one other than standard Windows ways to exit a program.

Not the worse by far as if you read my post you will see links to how to fix it and the PC version once patched and using the many high res texture mods & cutscenes is actually the best looking version of RE4 & the best overall gameplay wise as well.

Fair enough it should have had all this to begin with but at least it has been partially fixed and has a strong mod community who have created many quality gfx mods. You can also download mods to change the onscreen gfx to match your gamepad.

I've applied the graphics patch, so the game now looks OK. It's the controls that are the problem. I don't have and don't want a gamepad.

Can I put HL2 in aswell ;) maybe not a port but definetly suffered for being a joint 360 game, stupid Striders requiring Rocket hits only ;(

As for oblivion, I baught the limited edition on day of release only to play a few hours before I was so utterly disapointed with it. The gawd awful scripting in an early part of the game where you go through a wrecked town was enough for me. Felt to much like a dumb console game I gave up.

Havent played Fallout 3 yet and Im dreading doing so. Grrrrrr.

Surely there has to be some xbox/ps2 (last gen) games ported to the pc that are worse than some more recent games.
