Hey all,

Edit: Please try to stick to 1024px in width for your images, if you feel more detail is needed, provide a link to a higher resolution version.
:)

I've searched and can't find a panorama thread so I thought I'd take the liberty of starting one!

Has anyone shot any interesting panorama scenes recently? I'll kick off the thread with one of mine, wondered down to Birkenhead docks this evening and took this view of the Liverpool waterfront.
Not too happy with it, blurry in places and quite a bit noise but the lighting was lovely.

Taken with my measly D40 at approx 18:30 this evening:
1/3 sec, f5.6, 105mm - 11 Images stiched using a free program called "hugin" then corrected and editted in photoshop. Shrunk to 800 pixels in height but it's still nearly 8000 pixels long. :p

Anyway, comments welcome, just post yours too!

Awesome shots! The Grand Canyon is high on my list of places I need to go, did you visit it specifically or were you on a longer trip and just passed through?

Another from me, took this in Paris in 2008, not as wide as my previous effort:

Only got my DSLR a couple of weeks, still got loads to learn, this was taken on my first outing with it:p

Not recent, may last year but I have only just done the first two :)

The lovely mountain resort beside Palm Springs, USA. 13 photos in total, 2 rows of images.

And my fav. Yosemite National Park, 33 images, 2 rows:

Some of the images here are a little too large, i'd suggest shrinking them to 1024 px wide. You lose the impact of the image if you have to scroll across it :(

It was a longer trip and I was just passing through. Stunning place though. :)

There's some fantastic pics in here now. :D

Seeings as your all photography guru's on this part of the forum and the fact that I don't want to make mine own thread...do you mind telling me what is the best way to take panorama shots - ie without getting a really wide angle lens?

I think most people have said it. Set-up on a tripod, put the camera on manual and find a setting that works, then just pan round a tiny bit with each shot (keeping an overlap).

Then you just need to stitch the images together with some software. I used MS ICE for mine, it's free and works really well. :)
