You don't have that in 2560x1600 do you?

Awesome place. :)

Thanks, The original image is around 14000x5000 so getting it to 2560x1600 a problem but thats not exactly panoramic format so the sides would end up being chopped off.

Heres another but its not panoramic unfortunately but I like it, the manager of a certain high street photo shop asked whether she could have a copy when I went to get it canvas printed :)

Hoping to do better this year now I've got a monopod, a polarising filter and better tools for fixing the horizon (!) but still here's a couple from me:

Made for this thread. The view from my living room.

Yes, that is a building site right next to my flat. Hasn't changed in 18 months due to the credit crunch. At least the view beyond is nice. Need to replace my camera as there are marks on the sensor :(

Box Hill. Went up there to catch some doggers, came back with a lousy pano.

:D that made me laugh

Some great shots in this thread, I'm a bit miffed really as I never seem to remember to try some stitched panos when I am on holiday, thinking back it would have been great in Vietnam last year :(

Has anyone tried putting the camera in portrait and taking wide landscape panos that way (rather than landscape and moving left right etc)

The station one in my post is with 1 row of portrait photos. The glacial shot is a grid of shots about 4x3.

This seems to produce a much more useful aspect ratio, rather than 8 landscape shots side by side!

Does anyone else here find it hard to make a nice composition with panoramas? Most of mine tend to just document the scene rather than make a nice photo.

Kind of on topic still;

Yes thats what I was getting at, with landscape shot panos you just seem to get a really wide thin image, I would think that portrait style shots would work better.

As for composition, I guess its the same thing with wide-angle photos, if you don't have a point of interest or focal point(s) then the image tends to get a bit lost IMO.

Actually thinking of it I have some panos from Kenya I did years ago, I may post them just for the sake of it :D

EDIT, Robert, I've added you as a contact on Flickr if you don't mind, not sure why I didn't before, always enjoyed your work :)

Went for a random walk today and decided to take a couple of photos.

Not exactly the best photos in the world, with a not so fancy digicam but I like it as a first try. :)

3 images, do have a 4th of the sea but for some reason MS ICE won't stitch it on. Think it's because of the sky/sun and me being rubbish with a camera. :(
