COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

Well it finally arrived. At first I was getting caned hard, trying to play it like BC2. But once I had a few levels and some customisation I had some really good games and saw a fellow ocuker on the random server I chose!

Loving the PC version a lot more than I did the console MW2. Feels really sharp. I am getting big freezes, which I don't usually survive. I think I may need a console cmd to fix them, unless it was the server, but it felt like a local freeze rather than a general lag spike...

All in all, good fun! Not disappointed.
 
Seems to be taking to get into games now, just says connecting and the loading bar spins around for ages. Ended up just cancelling out.. :confused:
 
Looks like this patch made my game playable somehow, its 100 times better. Even though I have constant 40-60 fps the game feels choppy, this might be the server lag you were complaining about.

Yea, I'm pretty impatient :( I jus keep getting disgustingly good tomahawk kills and i cant watch them, :(
 
Don't think com_hunkmegs does anything in Black Ops - if it did you'd have to set it from the command line and not config anyhow.

cl_packetdup can have adverse effects if changed randomly - it needs to be tweaked to your specific network conditions its best left at 1 unless you know what your doing.
 
That weird juddering bug aside, does the game really run that much worse than CoD 4?

I consider my PC pretty bad by todays standards and I got 300fps on that game at 1920x1200.

absolutely agree on SP there's too many cut scenes ...snooooooze!

The patch has alleviated some of the juddering I get but still everytime I get into a close range 1 on 1 gunfight it's like my FPS goes into PowerPoint mode. :(
 
I had like 1-20 fps before the patch, constant freezing etc with everything set to lowest basically unplayable, now its much better but still it isn't MW/MW2 smoothness. This game looks **** but requires some super fast pc. I don't get it.
 
[/COLOR]Just finished the SP, only time I've ever not skipped through the credits because of the brilliant tune that was playing! Quite liked the story, found myself getting sucked into it.

Mine still doesnt run that smooth. Its better though with the patch and some config tweaks. Ati need to bring out a profile though. CAT AI and the game is choppy and more laggy.
