****OFFICIAL****3D Mark 11 Benchmarks Results Thread

wow that overclocked 570gtx goes to town on "6950" for £30 more...

Fitting name, take away the "Sky" part of course.

This is the 3D Mark 11 thread. The 6950 is not far off from a COMPARABLE system that has the GTX 580 in it. So for half the price, it's a great deal.

Also the cheapest 570 at OCUK is £299. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-042-ZT&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010

:o

The 570 GTX does not go to town on the 6950 in 3D Mark 11. For nearly £100 in difference it should whoop it by 33%. Does it?.

You're here trolling just like you were in the run up to the release of the 69xx series. I think it will be best to just stick you on ignore if you keep this attitude up as I really can't be bothered with you after reading your posts for the last two weeks.

OK here is mine not as good as easy :( also in the results it say's core 860 and mem 1360 ? but I clocked it at 920/1420
But then it also shows my CPU @ 3.87 but it's clocked @3.60 ? BUG ?

The GTX is a rip off at 300 when you can get a 6950 for 213 and flash it. :D

I agree.

33% (roughly) more expensive and I've seen the game benches, there was no 33% on average performance hike from a GTX 570 and 6970.

I think we should just sit back with a beer and enjoy the fireworks (AKA Skyrocket).

The 570 isnt a rip off its "available" at £250 at some places and overclocks well, you always pay over the odds for the fastest card (gtx580) and there will always will people that buy it, not everyone is happy with overclocking/flashing bios etc and just want a great card out of the box.

Will be interesting to see in the next couple of weeks if there is any side effects to the flashing process of the 6950.

Quoting a very expensive price for a GTX570 vs the cheapest price for a 6950 is a little unfair.

Lets look at the cheapest for both.

*GTX570 @ £260
*6950 currently £214 on OcUK TWO (82% of 570 cost).

GTX570 is guaranteed to run at GTX570 (~6970) speeds out of the box. No need for flashing and no disappointment if it cannot maintain stock 6970 speeds. Core and memory tend to overclock very well, with 20% headroom very likely. This makes it as fast as a GTX580.

6950 will probably flash to 6970 and maybe ok at 6970 speeds but this is not a given. Assuming most will run at 6970 speeds, overclocking will be limited because even 6970's don't clock much beyond stock.

Ultimately, a GTX570 will run at GTX580 speeds with a little bit of overclocking. It is hard to get 6970's to equal GTX580 performance, and probably harder for a flashed 6950 to do so.

So, the 6950 costs 82% of GTX570, but runs -15% slower at stock, might not unlock and reach full 6970 speeds, and ultimately will not overclock enough past 6970 speeds to keep up with an overclocked GTX570. Calling the GTX570 a rip off is a little mis-guided, especially when the 570 also runs cooler and makes a less annoying noise.

I agree totally, i dont know why this part of the forum is full of this kind of BS.
Be happy with the card you have bought i dont know why people have the need to prove they have the "best" it should all be about results so that other forum members can make up there mind themselves.

Currently if you have £200 to spend the 6950 is the best buy for £250 the GTX570 is obviously the better card i dont see how owning one or the other makes it any different.

Come on Boys where's your sense of Humour?

It was just a tongue in cheek remark with response to skyrockets pathetic post :p

My 6950 seems to be a nice clocker 920/1420 even when flashed :)

fair enough....and i got my 6950/6970 for £200 :P having to run at a noisy fan level to stop it catching fire though (matx :()

Odd that I can't seem to find a GTX570 for £250. So I suppose the best average comparison would be £230 for the AMD 6950 to £280 for the GTX570. Oh my goodness this is all completely off topic.

It's normal here, they claim it's tongue in cheek but you watch them pounce on anyone that bites.

I actually got my 580 for £350, I am tempted to sell my 580 and get 2 6950 instead.

Why? crossfire support is horrible in new titles, they eventually get thing working usually, but after your half way through the game or you've already completed it. Also, the GTX580 offers a more stable framerate than my HD5870 CF setup.

Well at least that's my experience after using HD5870 CF for around a year.

Just be happy with what you've got, the GTX580 is an awesome card and you well get full performance in every game, new and old and no other single GPU based card can touch it.

I don't pounce on anyone so I can see you're clearly talking out of somewhere else rather than your mouth.

All I said was that the 6950 of Easy's flashed to 6970 with an overclock was pretty close in score to that of a GTX 580 in 3D Mark11. It was Skyrocket that came in with his "oh but the GTX 570 goes to town for only £30 more".

So as this is the OCuK forum I checked what cards were in and the cheapest GTX 570 was £299.

I hope you can see where you've taken this the wrong way?. Reading the thread would have shown you this without resorting to say that I or Easy would jump on you if you disagreed was nothing more than your personal opinion. If you read the thread you'd have seen this without jumping in and trying to add your 2 cents.

If you actually look above you would have maybe seen this.

Next time, try and read the thread. ;)
