Just adding my two pence as I've not been around for a good few months as I was bored until 1.8 was due.

Obviously due to the way 1.8 has affects game worlds with its new underground caves/streams etc the temptation to do a wipe will be strong. Hell I'd support it completely but understand that most folk would want their builds/time preserved - that is a lengthy, time consuming task for the mods alone as most of us know.

Tbh keep the Pantheon and the buildings surrounding it if you do go ahead with the wipe. The Panthy is just one of those gorgeous buildings that deserves to stay. Can't wait for 1.8 to hit and I'm hoping it'll encourage exploration, which I felt had died out in <1.7.

I am already considering bringing back my old server and it's gameworld, which I took offline in April so I'm not sure if I'll be around anyway. I'm a bit muddled on it all tbh.

can anyone help me here: I have gone to minecraftforum.net

& selected to dl the new Jar file , but get error message: Failed to load Main-Class mainfest.

I saved it to desk top & when i try running it from there i get same message..

it's a .jar file, its not an executable. you are supposed to replace the minecraft.jar thats in your minecraft/bin/ directory with the one you've just downloaded.

amusing glitch posted on the MC forums. if you put 4 tools in a crafting bench and canel out of it, you'll get get a seemingly endless amount back. I imagine its limited to 128 or something but yeah ive just tried it and it works lol

Might be pointing out the obvious but don't overwrite it AirGuitar, rename your current minecraft.jar then add in 1.8.

Is anyone else finding it super laggy?
I'm trying to find this socalled "stronghold"

not pointing out the obvious so keep orginal.jar & then rename newone as minecraft-1.8.jar ?

Rename the old one to mincraft -bkup.jar and copy new one into the folder.

Getting no lag
Only 1 Stronghold per map and as people know maps are hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
