Fallout: New Vegas

All i can say is Nvamp mod.

They seem to have abandoned it unfortunately, it was a good idea but was never likely to work out tbh.

I can't believe how smoothly it is running for me now, even with loads of mods running!

I am trying some of the stuff I didn't do last time I played it, and I am finding that the crafting and cooking etc are brilliant, also I have started making my own ammo, which really is essential. Project Nevada is really good as well, adds so many different aspects to the game

Aaaaaaaargh, loving Lonesome Road so far, but I'm collecting so many new DLC weapons I want to install the DLC weapon wall for the Underground Hideout mod. Problem is, I had lots of issues getting it to work in the first place, so I shouldn't tinker or I could lose it all and have to start again!

Some of the quests in the game are really quite complex, I am trying to do them differently to the first time I played it but it doesn't always work out like that.
"How Little We Know" is a great quest.

PS modwise- Project Reality-Electro City-Open Strip makes for an epic New vegas Strip!
Also New Vegas Redesigned is excellent.

Just started the Honest Hearts DLC. I bought it in the Xmas Steam sale and its the first time I've played the game since last year. Has anybody had this bug right at the start: The caravan master (Jed something or other) won't let me join until I 'lose' my companion. That's fine, but I've parked Rex up in a completely different location and he still won't let me join.

Just installed this on my new pc and had a little mess around.

Turns out using a 120hz monitor and therefore upping the refresh rate forces the game to run fast. By that I mean doc mitchell shuffled over to the vit-o-matic vigor tester at 100mph and I can run incredibly fast in his house. Use the vigor tester and the little flaps flip over at super sonic speed.

I guess the only way around this is setting the monitor to 60hz?

Looking good Pighardia.

I never use companions so can't help with that? I know there's some companion dismissal terminal thing next to the Gun Runner's shop, maybe that'll help?

Do you mean you told him to wait here? or you told him it was time to part ways? A waiting companion is still a companion IIRC.

Playing through lonesome road at the moment and it is the best by a considerable margin in my opinion. If I had to rate the DLC I would say

Honest Hearts - short and not that interesting
Dear Money - very atmospheric but very hard when you only use explosive weps and there is no ammo around!
Old World Blue - very funny, new weapons are a bit underpowered but otherwise really great.
Lonesome road - brilliant, very interesting, great new weapons

Delighted that I have all DLC but if pushed would drop Honest hearts

think I will do one of the dlc today, though atm I am stuck on the quest which I believe I have been stuck on every time I have played it- the one in vault 22 .....I just can't find my way around it! I am trying to find the tech for the BOS and do the NCR quest as well.

You know in games, the one bit that you always seem to have trouble with....

I never use companions

Never? You are missing out on a lot! Do you do their quests at all, or not even get them? veronica's quest with the BOS is excellent(reading the wiki about all the different ways you can contact the Brotherhood and do their quests make you realise how immense the quests are in this game).

I've been putting them off as companions have just annoyed me in past games, plus I'm on Hardcore mode so when they die, they die.

I tend to have a narrow play-style (lone, with rifles and back-up shotgun or pistol, light armour), but now I've seen most of the game I'm going to start trying out the energy weapons and get some companions on the go. I'll post some screenies soon.

Has anyone been at war with the NCR? How does that affect using The Strip? I dislike both NCR and the Legion, but warring with the Legion is far more convenient as the NCR swarm around many of the important and useful New Vegas places!

Nice one. What mods are you running? Can't tell form those shots(well just backpacks, underground hideout and maybe MTUI?)

PS I have all the companions following me atm! currently doing Veronica's quest and a bit of EDE's

ALL the companions?! Lol, you must have quite a queue for the toilet in the morning! ;)

I have:
Waster's Scarf for lore and neck seam reduction ;)
Blackwolf's Backpacks for added realism (although they are a bit new looking).
MTUI, well spotted!
I have NMC's Texture Pack running behind Poco Bueno's Texture Pack.
Detailed Normals for slightly nicer roads and rocks, apparently with no extra memory requirements.
Weapon Mods Expanded, plus the DLC versions.
DK Caucasians: adds a new race with a prettier face. Used with Ling's Coiffure for better hairstyles and a small mod to make those two mods compatible.
Underground Hideout New Vegas: I've yet to find a better player home. I love being able to dump all my inventory in well-organised places with just a few clicks. I also love seeing the ammo and weapons I've collected stocked! Are there any others that offer that?
Weapon Retexture Project, because the vanilla weapon textures are dire.

Things you can't see:

A World of Pain.
Fallout New Vegas Redesigned 2.
Brighter Pipboy Light.
Centred 3rd Person Camera.
NVInteriors.
Perk Every Level.
Soft Drinks Restore Dehydration.
The Strip Open.

Far fewer mods now I've cleared out a lot of unnecessary ones. I still haven't finished modding though ;)

Go for Project Reality;) Great improvement, not just weather but also some great lighting effects.

AWOP really is excellent. Also I have just started using Redesigned 2, there is a new version out now, really good!
