Fallout: New Vegas

Plus I have a very similar system to you as well(8gb ram, 6950, same monitor!) so performance should be good.

Here are a few showing off New Vegas Redesigned 2, excellent improvements over vanilla NPCs

Weather is all down to Project Reality, as is the subtle DOF which is an effect you can toggle on/off(as are all weather effects)

I haven't got anything specific for the roads, just NMC's texture pack, Project Reality does seem to make most things look better though. Also I have Wasteland Flora Overhaul which adds loads of trees and ups the textures.

Pighardia those are pretty impressive m8. Actually I remember we had the same setups from when BF3 came out :) Not bad little rigs are they.

I didn't have the foresight(patience) to wait for Sandybridge though;) so I have a phenom in mine so occasionally miss the odd frame which I do slightly(but only slightly) regret:p .....I think it let me down a little in Skyrim

Just downloaded some mods for NV and WOW! Some of them make a huge difference. My favourite one is Fallout New Vegas Redesigned. I really notice the difference in the characters as I've played through the game on PS3 before.

Just about to start playing this. I am going to put the NMC texture pack (medium) on for now. Is there a 4gb aware patch for this like there is with skyrim? Or did Bethesda implement it in a patch, like they did with skyrim?

No you need the 4gb patch, and if you used NVSE(you really need to for mods to work) you have to dl a special version. There are links on the nexus website.

Also check on the nexus in the bugfixes/utilities section as there are loads of things that make it run smoother/better.

I would also strongly recommend a weather/lighting mod, with Project Reality being the best one by far, you don't really get the best out of the textures with default lighting imo.

Reinstalled this last night. Haven't played any of the DLC so for this reason my meagre mod list will be:

Project Reality
Wasteland Redesigned 2
Flora Overhaul.

I'll post some screenshots tonight when I start playing. I've done the character creation, stepped outside the shack and was pleasantly surprised by the huge difference in graphics from when I played through NV vanilla. My modded Fallout 3 is still one of the best looking games on my HD :D

I went for the Fertile wasteland operation in the Flora mod. Pighardia may remember from the Fallout 3 mod thread that I liked a greener look to my game

IT is much better for New Vegas. I didn't like the green look on FO3, but in new Vegas, with Project Reality it makes much more sense and fits in really well imo.

Agreed. It's much more subtle than I thought it was going to be, but I was just going by screenshots on the Nexus. I haven't actually wandered anywhere yet so just going by the view from outside the starting house. I saw from the description that there are forest areas added around the Wasteland, should give me an incentive to have a look around areas I haven't visited before.

Hi guys, first time in this thread! :D

I've just bought the New Vegas Ultimate edition with all the DLC added and I'm 11 hours in my first playthrough.

I haven't tried modding anything, the graphics are OK but the colour looks a bit strange at times.

One thing I *have* to change though is getting rid of invisible walls, it's so fustrating to be climbing up a mountain and then be stopped for no good reason...Fallout 3 didn't have that problem.

Can anyone suggest a mod for getting rid of them?

Also looking at some of the mods screens on here can any recommend a tutorial on modding the GUI? Trying to sell stuff is a nightmare, constantly scrolling through a huge screen of stuff!

Thanks! :D

Beyond The Borders mod on the New Vegas Nexus.

There are UI mods on the nexus as well, I don't have any specific recommendations though.

lol, sr440, that's great!

Install the mod MTUI, it improves the UI a lot by generally making the text smaller so you can see more on the screen. There are a few others out there that do more complex sorting and so on, too.

Here is DUI (the best interface mod by a mile) Just follow the instructions on that page and you shouldn't have problems. I think you need FOSE as well for it.

Otherwise there is MTUI which is also popular, though I don't use it myself.

Invisible Wall Remover

^^ Doesn't Beyond The Borders allow you to leave the New Vegas world space?
