Fallout: New Vegas

On a related note:

There's a few locations he missed too, like Searchlight, Cottonwood Cove, the Ultra Luxe being inspired by the Bellagio casino etc.

The only problem I had when using it, was that it includes quite a few mods which I already had, and whilst there is a long list of what is included, I did miss a few. I was getting ctd's at the loading screen and could not work out why, then I noticed that Bottle That Water is in it.

So check the list to make sure you are not trying to run the same mod twice;)

What is project nevada?

http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/40040

The most comprehensive and stable gameplay overhaul mod.(all other mods bend over backwards to be compatible with it;))

Is it easy enough to get those two mods to work together without any issues, the load order etc for example..?

Yes. There are compatibility patches for Project Nevada on the NVEC download page under optional files(but only for the complete version i think). BOSS will sort out the load order for you(though compatibility patches are not recognized atm, so just load them all after the main files and it will be fine).

Thanks for that :)

It gives me an excuse to start the game again, providing I can sort out the optional files :D

Has anyone tried selling Arcade Gannon into slavery?

No....but now that you have mentioned it;)

I think for this play I might take out the Brotherhood(sooo many different variables in that questline). And maybe try and get the Enclave involved. I always end up playing it pretty much the same way though, despite trying to mix things up. I might side with House this time, and I will definitely kill Benny

Plus I am usually pro-NCR, but I might take them on a bit this time.

Actually, with Arcade, I wonder if you can lure him out to the dinosaur....:p

There are for most of the major quests (and your companions). Cass/Rose alone has about 10 different endings to her story in NV. If anyone's played Fallout 2, she's the daughter of Cassidy and an unnamed tribal woman.

It's a shame a lot of planned Legion content had to be cut, they would have been much more fleshed out and had more quests (Josh Sawyer said you would've been able to visit a civilian settlement in Legion territory among other things).

They are just a little too cartoony for me. They make great bad guys, but for a faction which you can join I think they are a bit OTT tbh. They definitely would benefit from a bit more fleshing out. As they are, I can't really see myself ever wanting to join the in a playthrough

They could have used some better armour (ie not football gear) and weapons too (when you encounter Vulpes in Nipton, only two of the group have firearms). Though that can be fixed by modding.

NVEC is absolutely essential!

There are so many little changes that make a difference, but something as simple as the weapon wheel totally changes the feel of the game for me. It changes it so that the mouse wheel changes weapons like in most FPS, and when you change weapons, you get a little description of the weapon including name and damage.

Being able to loot unconscious people is also cool, especially if you are trying for a no kills playthrough, as I am thinking of doing(gonna be a bit sneaky;))

There are some cracking little mods in that NVEC.

Off the top of my head, the ones I am finding the most useful atm are-

Signature weapons and armour- Allows you to pick one armour and one weapon as you "signature" piece, so that they level up with you, and you can keep them for longer.
Active Wasteland- makes some random items in the world interactive such as coffee machines to make coffee, chemistry sets to create chems, microscopes to examine blood packs(for some reason).
Intuitive realistic cooking- Revamps the cooking into something really worth doing, essential if you are playing hardcore.
Light My flare- adds flares to the game which you can use as torches or drop them.
Unique items and collectibles- Adds lots of items you can find around the wasteland. So far I have found the Mario Bros game and the Ramones LP;)
Plus the weapon wheel is excellent.

There are many many more that I can't think of atm. It is good to have them all and not have to worry about conflicts/load orders

It is like a different game now!

I'd like a mod that brings back the NPCs that were removed in the official patches (I know it was for performance reasons, especially on the consoles but a good PC can manage fine). Without them Primm and the Strip look ridiculously empty, as does the stage where Kimball holds his speech.

Looks good. The marrying Cass quest sounds like it would have been a good laugh, shame the dialogue was never recorded (then again, Rachel Roswell can't be that expensive to hire :p )
