Explosiveness.
May I ask what the purpose of the speed reps + press ups is?
Pretty much as LiE said
I'm presuming here, but if you don't practice 'explosiveness' then your reps are going to be reasonably slow, if you can get that push at the bottom of the rep, it helps to shift the weight really So by doing some explosive sets, it should help on heavier sets.
I've always been told it's slow down, fast up so to speak. (Can anyone elaborate here?)
EDIT: Personally, I just try and be explosive on the way up of bench press...Without compromising shoulder position mind
I've never trained for explosiveness/speed, but have always associated it with 'if I train explosiveness, I can punch someone faster/harder'
disclaimer. only ever had one fight in my life, I'm not some **** that goes out looking for trouble, ever!
Lies
I've never trained specifically for it either, but that's my understanding of it I guess. Please correct me obviously, as I'd rather know the 'real' reason
That's because hes wearing clothes.
Someone wants to you squatting in tight boxers me thinks...
