What "man jobs" have you done today?

I put a new handle and lock on the bathroom door, also moved the carpet strip back a quarter of an inch so for the first time in about 10 years the door closes without needing to rugby tackle it :D

So this week I have been off work decorating our 2nd spare bedroom.

Before - Princess pink and dull gloss work

After - New York theme : Chrome switches, white gloss bed-side tables & drawers and New York light shade & lamps with LED bulbs :)
(Wallpaper still drying, hence the visible lines)

Cheers, had a wee look last night and first few results pointed towards eBay! Might take a look into something like that when I dedicate one of my bedrooms.

Just cut my massive hedge which is actually the biggest pruce you're ever likely to see. Mowed the lawn & cleared my paths as well.

Wired 3 LED downlights (cool white variety) to a push-to-break switch (visible top right) in my wardrobe.

Was lovely fighting through large spiders and itchy insulation! Very satisfying though to have completed a job I've been wanting to do for weeks.

Cleared the shed
Went to battle with 8+ ant hills causing mass ant-genocide
Removed some lights in preparation for electrician

Fixed and painted the shed. Looks almost new now :)
Also, turned some of the soil and used some of that evergreen complete to see what happens before throwing it over the entire garden.

Fixed the washing machine which was having an issue with the fabric conditioner part of the drawer or something ... taking it to bits and fiddling and then putting it back together and not having bits left over seems (apparently) to have fixed it.

Tonight I've been discovering more concrete in my garden from when the previous owners were 'improving' the garden

Lifting up my monoblock is taking its time. Just been doing the odd 30 mins to an hour whenever theres been a break in the weather.

Looking to relocate the paving slabs all down this side of the garden for future plant boxes / raised beds.

I'm in the process of moving into a new house so lots of man jobs this week.

I broke out the power tools (borrowed from my brother) and put up curtain poles, built a sofa bed from IKEA, assembled and mounted a huge NY cityscape print and painted the outhouse floor.

Appliances are coming Friday so got to apply a second coat of floor paint, and plumb the washing machine in from the outside tap to the outhouse (Going to be fun in the winter).

Next Tuesday, all our flatpack furniture is coming, so I'll be spending the week in a sea of cardboard, cellophane, lost screws, swearing, getting high on 'No More Nails' fumes, and 'insert tab A into Slot B', 'That's what she said' references, and more swearing.

Haven't done too badly on injuries, my new set of 10way ladders extracted a chunk of flesh, a bruised moob from who knows where, and just general aches from moving a whole heap of boxes.
