How good is this game? I see people on LotRO mentioning it with high praise, but high praise in the past has produced poor games.

From past betas. Not very. But I'm going to give it another whack this weekend to see how the new changes have taken - if you want a key I can throw you one so you can try it yourself.

This beta is going to be pretty similar to the previous, as all the major new changes won't be active. So save your time and test it again after this weekend.

To clarify, this beta weekend is to test the stability of the American servers with the previous weekends beta build. So that means no collision, no impact changes to weapons, no floaty combat fixes an the starter zones are still active.

All the new changes are currently restricted to the closed beta testers and I predict the next beta weekend after this one will contain all the new stuff.

So don't expect much difference if you have tested previously.

I would say its definitely worth getting if you enjoy exploring, elder scrolls, slower more meaningful questing and 300 v 300 + PvP faction v faction v faction action.

There is much more then this, but don't forget there is problems. Combat at the moment in pve feels a little lack luster, but they released a new patch to address this. Just to name one of the problems.

But most of the problems seem to have been addressed now and my concerns have been answered enough for me to pre order.

If you test this weekend remember most of the problems you might have, might have been fixed in the infamous 0.18 patch, which you won't experience this weekend.

you've had a good 30+ people try it in one of the betas, and theres 2 or 3 that are buying it, says it all really :)

Yeah, it says that - as I've mentioned before - this fora is one of the most negative toward the game I've ever come across.

Massive positive threads on reddit, 3rd most wanted game on MMORPG.com (after being out of the top five for ages, it's been steadily climbing since the betas started) and huge pre-order numbers.

I guess they must all be wrong and OcUK MMO experts that constantly slate it must be right.

Not the mention the subreddit is larger then others and across multiple forums the ESO threads are larger them the rest.

This forum is the only place with such negativity, while concerns are just, not only have they been fixed, but are trivial at times.

I know plenty of other sites that are far harsher on the game than this one?

Indeed, the PR Co Zenimax have hired are working overtime to counter the negative reviews ;)

It's not about being harsh. You don't like the game, fair enough. I could reel off a massive list of things that I didn't like about Wildstar, but I fully accept that a lot of people will thoroughly enjoy that game and I don't feel the need to drop into the WS thread telling everyone how bad it is.
They're not aimed at the same sections of the market, they don't play the same are really only share the genre; you wouldn't compare Tomb Raider with Thomas Was Alone, even though they're both platformers.

Or maybe some people have opinions that are, *GASP*, different to yours!

End of the day, you like Wildstar, I like this, but only one of us keeps popping into the thread of a game they say they don't like telling people how rubbish it is.
