*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

Dark Anchors and fissure where in the game way before this patch.

And Rift scaled back there Rifts quite dramatically.

Combat still looks bad.

Rift still does it better and on a much larger scale.

**edit to your edit**

Wildstar is just another MMo due out. I have not championed Wildstar but stated it's fun and feels like a mix of Tera/Aion/GW2 etc etc whilst also saying it will not be the next big thing.

Dog, your fanbois bias towards ESO makes you look desperate and silly. Just because some people don't like it shouldn't bother you. Chin up pal !

First person was tacked on after there was a massive outcry from the testers/ES fanbois that it wasnt there.

Personally I cant imagine playing a MMO in 1st person, especially the pvp side of it. In a single player enviroment and specially an Elder Scrolls game its different and the limitations of 1st person arent a hinderance.

While I happily admit to being a elder scrolls franchise fanboy, I have my concerns for the MMO, but for some people, nothing is good enough and as such will stick around with their hatewagon attitude and just bash the game because it seems cool at the time.

I could not careless if the trolls in this thread ever play this game, but I do care if they carry on because their pathetic attitude can influence new players.

People didn't like the combat, so they change that.
People didn't like the animations, so they are still changing them now.
People didn't like starter island, so they changed it.

Its too much like WoW
Its not enough like WoW
Its too much like Skyrim
Its not enough like Skyrim

What more can they actually do? I guarantee you that the vast majority of the hatewagon crowd have never got past level 10 or played the game and yet they seem to continue with their keyboard warrioring.

If you don't like the game, why are you (generic you) still posting in a thread dedicated to a game you don't like? GTFO or contribute.

Last time I checked the word 'FORUM' was a place for people to discuss matters ?

Just to correct you again, I haven't stated any hate for ESO nor have I compared it to WoW (I have never played it so that wouldn't make any sense).

I shall continue to contribute to the discussions with my thoughts without resorting to comments like 'GTFO', tantrums like yours make you look silly.

To be honest I'm just fed up of coming into the thread to discuss the game and have to wade through the forum trolls to get to peoples discussions. Hence the GTFO rage.

On a different note

Nice little video, the quest indicator can be turned off now, so you have to find new quests instead of the compass telling you.

People who disagree or portray a different opinion to yours are not trolls.

I could understand if I had stated things like ' it's very childish' or ' aimed at 12yr olds' etc etc .. ;)

Or the countless people saying 'it will be ftp in 6 months' etc, I'd condiser them trolling.

Difference of opinion is fine.

So...the stat system in ESO. Is it similar to other Elder Scrolls games whereby you can basically be anything you want? My first and best mmo (Myth of Soma) was brilliant purely because you were never hindered by a class. If the ESO has a system like this then I will definitely be giving it a go.

Yep, you can be whatever you want. Skills are based on what weapon you have equipped. You also get other abilities based on what armour you have on, as well as base class abilities so you can really mix it up.

So the way it works is as follows:

You choose a class, you can put points into skills depending upon this choice.
You choose your armour type, you can put points into skills depending upon this choice.
You choose your weapon, you can put points into skills depending upon this choice.
You choose your race, you can put points into skills depending upon this choice.

You also put points into Magicka, Stamina and Health to increase each respectively.

So its quite diverse.

Nope, a sneaky rogue can go butt nekkid if he/she so desires. Medium armour has properties that usually tally up with being a stealthy-type sort of fellow (either through medium armour passives or bonus' directly applied on the armour) but you can pretty much mitigate any penalties by being clever with racial bonus' and enchants.

For min-max players, it won't be good enough to have a cloth/nude/heavy armour wearing Nightblade, but for everyone else it's a viable alternative.

You can also mix and match pieces to get bonus' i.e. couple of bits of med to get 2 piece bonus and then other bits to make up the rest.

I completely overlooked the skill system and the fact it would be similar to other games in the series. Now I am excited. I'm sick of being stuck with one class in mmos as I like to mix it up a lot.

Anyone got a beta key? :D
