Never really push these cards till I started to rebuild mine.

According to GPUZ vrm's where hitting 120 plus (Idoubt they where that hot but)

As I don't know how accurate that is - I'm done till I know more

Yikes! GPU-z is pretty accurate for the Classifieds. I checked temps reported by GPU-z vs an IR thermometer and they were close enough. 120 C is a bit much for benching, I would say.

I take it thats with the hydrocopper blocks?? The EK ones are ment to cool the vrm's much better. Core temps will be very similar though and this is from what i have read.

Aye, they aren't that good by all accounts and this proves it

A good cheap remedy would be to get 1-2 of the scythe GT 5400rpm fans i used these when i had my 7970 lightning, these can push some serious air and blasting them at the vrm area the temps would not budge, highly recommended.

Edit:meh just had a look and there no longer available

Won't help with the HC blocks as they cover up the entire card. That's a good idea with the EK blocks though- it has helped me a lot.

lol ya that happens sometimes, I have had GPU-z say my temps are -12345 C at times.

Well after a bit of research (well googling) it seems that the vrms are cooled by the loop.

So never to be one to shy away I ran the bench again and used HW to monitor temps.

GPUZ had card 1 at over 400 deg and card 2 at 67 deg on the vrms.

HW had the following.



HW seems to be quite accurate with reporting voltages that where applied.

So looking at report vrm temps, it looks like they are reasonably cooled.
