Virgin Media Discussion Thread

gahhhh no call backs from VM since I rang up the Sales team 3 days ago asking about adding the TV M+ package.

I even found a number for the Loyalty Team and have been rining that night and day, it's funny too because the voicemail message says 'Please call back within normal business hours' ?? SO what is that then 3am?? Cos nobody is answering.

So our VM cable keeps getting pulled out of the ground, I assume either by some youths or foxes, i presume the foxes. Its got to the point where there is exposed cabling on the outside box and it seems to have effected the TiVo catchup service. I'll ring them again tomorrow or Sunday but this will be the third time they'll have to come out to bury the cable.

Any ideas on how to keep it under the grass?

My 152Mb is so fast today.

I have the 56U - very good, although 2.4ghz range isn't fantastic (leagues ahead of the Superhub though)

Anyone having problems in ST17? I should be 20mbps, but speedtest.net is giving me 1.7mbps - that's both for the computer and the phone. Powering off the modem for 5 minutes doesn't solve this. Even VM's server status page times out lol. OcUK's forums can just about browse fine, deviantART is less than satisfactory, and Youtube... don't even think about it.

Got a VM man coming this tuesday. Been about 2 months where i have been riddled with issues. Before it was speed drops in the evenings. After replacing the superhub about 3 weeks ago. The new one is completely Friar Tucked itself, not getting an address over DHCP, can't log on using a static, wireless won't connect at all. Yet all the lights on the front say its connected. Even virgin see it as offline. Can't even set it to modem mode and use a cable router.

A "Level 2" bloke is coming out to most likely just replace it again, then i wait until it packs up. This must be my 4th or 5th superhub. The guys and gals on the phone have always been quite helpful. But its just a pain i've had to take time off to let engineers in the gaff. I'll see if i can get him to have a nosey in the exchange and sellotape on some more speed and stability.

Is anybody else getting youtube buffering problems after 7 even at 240p?

I have seen a few posts on the vm forums describing my problem but with no solution to it
any solutions or suggestions guys?

Mine was quite bad yesterday couldn't watch anything. Seems to be fine today though.

Mines was very bad all last week and my power levels are perfect and i'm getting full speed on a speed test.

I will see how it goes tonight and call up virgin if the problem doesn't cure itself.

Hmm, just checked my downstream power level and they are too low today, -6, should really be in between -3 +3.
