** Hyper X cloud II Headsets **

Anyone had an issue with the First Gen model and the mic? I have problems with mine in that people are constantly saying they can't hear me very well, and I find I have to bring the mic RIGHT up to my mouth to the point I'm virtually eating it, and even then it's not great.

The mic on the Hyperx isn't very good, it does have to be close to your mouth in order for it to pick your voice up good. Their is also a lot of background noise when speaking on the mic - almost like some static.

The mic on the Hyperx 2 was quite a lot better.

I got some for my lad around middle of last week and had a play with them...they're really nice, a bit bass heavy but I like that, really comfy and worth the money for the packaging alone !
Really nice build quality and surprisingly light and comfortable.
My lad's well pleased with them.
He is only using the USB DAC that came with them and it seems to do the job rather well.

FYI. His previous headset was the Creative Fatality which (I can't stress enough) are pants.

Hierarchy: Hyper X Cloud ii --> Turtle Beach P11 --> Creative Fatality HS 800.

Am still debating whether to buy a pair of these, the only problem I have with them is they have not made much headsets, can't moan at the price.

I am still rocking my original HyperX headset, it's been great, comfortable and an easy to reposition mic.

Never had any issues with comfort so memory foam could only add more lush!

One area that has let me down is the little square breakout box, my headset cuts out a lot, due to a loose wire or connection there. Will have to look at that some time.

Thanks for your opinion, helps me decide to get one. Is the microphone good for sound cancellation?

I have had no issues with the Mic, I use teamspeak a lot, most nights, with a mix of players from all over Europe, have used it with my last three clans, and no issues apart from my Scottish accent.

It is way better than Razer Carcharias and Asus Vulcan ANC I previously used, very easy to position the mic and it has a superb foam windshield. The packages is superb, and it comes with spare earpads. They are really decent and worth the money in my opinion. I have two lads and a little girl who play about with them on occasion too, with no mishaps.

Fair enough, might consider it, yeah they look pretty decent to be fair and they look quiet strong. I am glad they are leather too as foam round my ears can cause them to get super hot, sounds weird but it can be such a pain on a game or watching a movie when your ears are burning. I don't like the hinges on the Razer Carcharias. Just something about me that hates that type of hinge.

Thanks for the advice :) Always helpful.

This headset arrived for me today and when connected I hear a constant hissing sound. It's only quiet but it is constant. My previous HyperX Cloud 1 didn't have any hissing sound but that was a 3.5mm connection.

Is this something to do with it being driven by a USB? How can I connect the cloud 2 to the normal 3.5mm jacks in my PC?

I am having the same problem too as the op. Tried on both my pc and macbook pro. It is very quiet, but the static is defintiely there.
Another problem I'm having is that the most comfortable volume for me is at the most two blips above zero when using USB, and the treble far overwhelms the bass. Is there an equalizer setting that I've missed?

Was thinking of buying a set of these, but with at least two on here saying there is a hiss problem - not so sure now?

I wonder how many of these have the problem?

Mark

the oem is probably takstar

Looking at takstar pro 80 and having taken a pair of clouds apart the insides are the same stuff
