Nvidia haven't updated any of the profiles for 3d for ages

It was never alive. Just another one of those things Nvidia thought they could monopolise and make huge dorrar from.

Didn't work, just like Physx and god knows how many other silly things they've attempted. Oh and you can add tri sli and quad sli to that too.

That's because like physx, tri sli and quad SLI no one supports it. Why would you? it's all money and time for a 60% audience. Too many people are using AMD for it to work. That's the issue with all of this fragmented crap.

As for bottlenecking, I am seeing a few games hit that with SLI TXs @1440P. 4.6Ghz helps a lot and 4.8 would pretty much see it off on the 3930K. I will test that theory another time but for now, I am fed up with testing and just enjoying some games

That's because like physx, tri sli and quad SLI no one supports it. Why would you? it's all money and time for a 60% audience. Too many people are using AMD for it to work. That's the issue with all of this fragmented crap.

SLI bridge normally comes as part of the motherboard bundle

You should've got SLI bridges with your motherboard, don't think they come with graphics cards.

As above, I've never seen one come with a GPU but you should get one with your motherboard if it supports SLI.

The 2 card SLI bridges look like a ribbon cable from the 80s so best to buy a nice bridge from Nvidia, Asus, EVGA etc anyway.

Or space the cards far apart (better for air cooling!) and use a 3 or 4 card bridge.

Yeah I found the one in my Asus X99-s box.

Hopefully it's long enough, PCIE slots 1 and 3 both run at 3.0 x16

Which CPU do you have?

Edit: I guess a 40 Lane one so slots 1 and 3 is right. I think there are PCB style bridges for that extra slot gap 2-Way if you didn't want to use the ribbon one in the box.

What do people do when running 3 or 4 sli as it can be tricky to run a soundcard.

Do they go for onboard sound or a USB type soundcard.

Even 2 is tricky on an x99 platform coz it covers up the fans on the 2nd card

On z97 boards you could have it in the top X1 PCI slot
