So 1 week fast forward, I'm still happy with my MSI Gaming 6G. Ambient tempratures have returned to normal where I live, and the card overclocked hardly gets above 62c on GTAV. Seems just as good as my previous 970 Gaming, no complaints from me.

No it doesn't, they changed the law, goods now have to be returned in a resaleable condition or they can make a deduction for loss

Ocuk's new terms use the exact same wording as the updated law so they comply exactly

If they have to bgrade an item because you opened it and used it, they can deduct that from your refund. They can, it doesnt always mean they will. But ocuk no longer offer a no questions 14 day satisfaction policy, which is what I replied to.

Yes you are indeed correct, apologies. Not a good change for consumers.

Just thought I'd bring this up again for clarification -

I've got my card O.C - 110% power and no voltage touched, after reading some things here i decided to play about an hour of gta v and have a look at some of the results in afterburner

I get :

GPU 1 powerlimit stayed at 0 - didnt move
Gpu 1 Voltage limit hit 1 (so that means im hitting the max voltage right? even though I've not added any voltage to the card? -voltage max read as 1.18 or something)

and GPU 1 OV max limit stayed at 0 (so am I not hitting my max voltage after all?)

Does this just mean that the card is reaching it's max stock voltage (up from its idling .997 to 1.18ish) but not reaching the max voltage the card can take (if i move the slider +87mv it would result in the max voltage reading being 1.25 ish right?)

just a quick question form people here

also - hitting 13GB pagefile usage with 8gb of ram - seem okay?

What settings are you running GTA at? Since the DLC yesterday my frames have been all over the place, stuttering, etc. I could get 50 FPS on Ultra quite easily, now they're more around the 30s.

it means the card is boosting as much as it can with the conserative settings boost uses. (for me adding volts so it hits the bios limit 1.25 or whatever it is the card only boosted it self by another 30mhz)

you can likely add +100 mhz to the core without touching the voltage and still see boost raising you by the same amount of mhz

for me my msi gaming boosts to 1306mhz but if I add +100mhz to the core it now boosts to 1400 and no issues.

didn't leave it there though just went back to stock since the cards are so op in most games anyway, like maxing out my monitors 120/144 vsync and the gpu sitting at 50% or whatever

I agree completely, however to a certain extent I can understand ocuk wanting to protect themselves from people buying a whole bunch of cards to get the best clocker and then returning the ones they don't want

In practice ocuk are still pretty good with returns for e.g. Coil whine or fan noise, as long as it isn't obvious the above is going on

I have the card oc - I've added +175 to the core, it boosts to 1567mhz, 5 more and it crashes, if I add 50mv I can hit 1603 and do a run of 3dmark but thats about it, I wasnt measuring voltage limit or oc voltage limit at the time was just chancing my luck at a higher score

Only extended distance scaling on in advanced settings since I have not the slightest clue what the other options do. Aside from that, fully maxed out in the graphics tab. 2560x1440 and 2x msaa. I have not noticed anything from the patch tbh. Perhaps turn off things like long shadows, what the hell does that even do. :p
Ultra grass has been no issue for my card tbh, its only outside near mountains where fps may drop to higher 50's, but its rare tbh.

Hey Kaapstad, can you swap the Inno3D out, and put the Zotac Amp! Extreme in?

P.S. It makes everything else look so small.

Done.:)

Looking good. What made you change?

Coil whine. The Inno 3/4X was my first choice (really good value, and that cooler is perfect).
Second choice was the MSI 6G, but since I had the same cooler on my previous cards (970s) I wanted to change, and the ridicolous design lead me to the Zotac :p

All three of them are silent, the clocks virtually the same (1480 with the Inno, 1520 the Zotac, Msi would've been similar too).
For this round of gpus, the choice should be as shallow as it gets, they're all great cards :)

Razor how are you finding the extreme? Can't wait to use a card that can legitimately push max settings at 1440p above 60fps. The 980 couldn't quite cut it.

Fair play, coil whine would drive me nuts.
