The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Razor how are you finding the extreme? Can't wait to use a card that can legitimately push max settings at 1440p above 60fps. The 980 couldn't quite cut it.
As Gibbo said: the card is pretty much silent. I was afraid after reading Guru3D's review, as they state it's rather loud, but that's not the case.
Temps never went above 70 degrees (25 in the room) and fan speed between 30-45% - the case airflow probably helps.

Without touching the volts, it goes to 1505/8000. For more I would've to add some mV but I won't even bother.
It's just another goofy looking card which can share the top spot with 6G and G1.

I bought one shortly after Fury launched, EVGA ACX 2.0.

I've now got it under water and modded the bios, is there a concensus of what the maximum power limit is? I've got it set at 300W with 1.275V (seemed like a popular number :p) and the clockspeed is bouncing around between 1400-1500 under Heaven due to power limit being hit. I'm a bit weary of going any higher than 300W on power limit even though the EK waterblock should cool the VRM's amazingly well?

Hi all,

I was talking about the voltage limit, not the power limit. Never hit the power limit, only the Voltage limit...all the time.

I did some reading and realised that voltage limit is the card hitting the voltage limit and stopping the boost, so in theory upping the voltage may give more boost. So I tried...

Here are my benching tests, using Tomb Raider as a benchmark.

Config 1

+0mV
+120core
+0mem
boost: 1462
volts: 1.193v

Config 2 (seems best)

+20mV
+120core
+0mem
boost: 1474
volts: 1.212v

Config 3

+30mV
+120core
+0mem
boost: 1474
volts: 1.212v

Config 4

+35mV
+120core
+0mem
boost: 1474
volts: 1.212v

Config 5

+40mV
+120core
+0mem
boost: 1484
volts: 1.237v

downclocks to:

boost: 1474
volts: 1.212v

Config 6

+40mV
+120core
+0mem
boost: 1484
volts: 1.237v

downclocks to:

boost: 1474
volts: 1.212v

Separate to this I've run the Tomb Raider benchmark just overclocking the Core, and not changing the volts. At +150 I start to get artifacting on the benchmark, this hits 1500~ but is clearly not stable. Although firestrike runs.

What settings are you running GTA at? Since the DLC yesterday my frames have been all over the place, stuttering, etc. I could get 50 FPS on Ultra quite easily, now they're more around the 30s.

I'm getting 60 but I've changed the odd setting here and ther to get it though

My parcel has shipped which is great, however if I try to track it with the consignment number on dpd it prompts me to log in, I select "a new login" to supposedly create an account to track and it just says the page cannot be found.

I took it up to 330W  and it's keeping at 1493mhz in Heaven now, I will go for the big 1500mhz if nothing melts. What is the norm for memory overclocking? I currently have 3800mhz stable not tried higher though.

Go to DPD's site and enter the tracking number yourself. Something's up with the links that OCUK send you.

Odd. Wait until tomorrow morning I guess, my first tracking information was 00:16 the day after it was sent. I couldn't do anything on the website until then.

both my 980ti's boost to 1305 with +20mv and +100 on the core

anything more than +100 regardless of volts added results in little to no gain. not very experienced with NVidia overclocking tho, used to amd! is this a good clock? never seen my cards over 45'c and that was in the 30'c heat we were having!

Do some folks not bother to oc the memory at all? The perfomance gain seems quite negligible. Oc'ing the memory does seem to affect the max stable core clock as well.
So, +150 core vs +100 core and +300 memory etc...

Alright cheers for your help mate :D currently drinking my sorrows away in a Munich beer house after spending £610 haha

I know how you feel. Even more disappointing to hear coil whine the first time I start playing a game on it.

The coil whine whilst playing games has dimmed a bit, however in Heaven 4.0 and Firestrike it's really loud. When I close both there's a high pitched whistle when I end the benchmark and the program is shutting down.

Still not sure whether to send it in for an RMA, I might give it a few days.
