Show us your kitty cats

I'm so sorry to hear that mate, sometimes people don't understand how you get so attached to a pet but they truly become a huge part of the family in only a short time.

RIP little lady

R.I.P. you beautiful little creature, you were the most loving little being anyone could ever hope to have in their lives and brought many smiles to my face every day. I miss you so much.

Damn, sorry to hear that! :(

You'll have to excuse my ugly mug but my fiancé took this photo the other morning.

Dex sleeps with me like that most nights. He's about 3 and a half years old now and he's done it since the very first night I got him as a kitten. Usually to the missus annoyance as he stretches out in the night and I move over to give him space, pushing her to the edge! In his defence.. He did move in first.

I'm so sorry crinkleshoes. She looks so much like my Lola it's freaking me out.

Sorry for your loss :(

Unfortunately our last cat, Sherlock, that I posted here previously got hit by a car last year :( Not long after, we got this brother & sister pair from a rescue centre, Posh & Becks...

Thanks all.

Sorry neodude... I know how much it hurts... from that second picture, Sherlock could be Mini's brother :/

Of the first pair of cats I have had with my now wife, a brother and sister from the same litter... we lost Stewie under a car when he was 18 months old... got a call one afternoon from the vet when I'd been working from home :(

Hetty was asleep on her back minding her own business when Dex showed up.. Shortly afterwards all hell broke lose!

My old cat, Smokey. He's 19 years old this year, blind in his right eye (as you can see in the second, blurry picture), is suffering from senility and is a skinny shadow of his former self. But he's still awesome.

The vets have put him on meds for his anxiety, brought on by the senility, and for his blood pressure, which may be the cause of his blindness but all that can be done is to make his life as comfortable as possible now. He paces around and is increasingly affectionate, both of which are uncharacteristic but he's soldiering on, albeit increasingly slowly :)

I'm not sure if it's because she's a pedigree (of a breed known to be affectionate), or I just lucked out... I have only had one cat, and she is super-affectionate, and I can't imagine having a cat that was cold or distant.

Mine wants to be with me all the time, and will not leave me alone for even a second! She will only sleep in the bed that's closest to me, and always, always jumps on my lap whenever I sit down :)

Affectionate cats are awesome. But aren't they all affectionate some of the time? To some degree, with their owners?

Or does anyone here have a cat that displays no affection at all?

Cats are like people they all have their own personalities or at least moggies do. Some are super affectionate some are grumpy some are more independent minded. Takes all sorts as they say. Pedigree types tend to more homogenous in terms of temperament, probably all the in-breeding and generally small genetic pool. I like mogs.

Both of mine (still weird saying that instead of all three of mine :( ) want cuddles and attention when THEY want cuddles and attention. If I wanna give them a cuddle and they don't want me to, I've got no chance, if they want a cuddle or a fuss though, I have to stop what I'm doing and obey them :D

Got this little chimp 3 months ago. now 6 months old.

This is the last thing you see before you get pounced on...

Eyes are very dark, been told this will mean they'll be a bright copper colour over the next 6 - 12 months.

Hi Cat Lovers,

Can you help me out?

A number of local cats use our garden path as a cut through from one road to another. I've no objections at all to this, it's a nice safe route for them.

However one particular cat is coming in to my garden to do its business on my lawn almost every night. It's not even like it lives next door it comes from miles away.

The problem is that I have a medical condition and I enjoy gardening because it's about the most excercise and outside activity that I can get. However I've been told that Cat droppings could be very harmful to me (don't know the science).

So what can I do in a non harmful way to discourage this behaviour?

Thanks
