Anyone that purchased the 4GB 480 might want to check under the shroud for how many memory chips there are.
Someone with a 4GB posted pics of his VRAM, it's 8 modules of 8Gb(1GB) density each.
Just waiting for him to flash then we'll see.

Is anyone else getting this at boot.?
This happens on all three different displays that I tried when using hdmi and displayport.
Also I'm getting some artifacts when using 144hz over display port.
None of this ever happened with any of my Nvidia cards.
Anyone.?

Is that one of those BIOS splash screens, if so, try disabling it from BIOS.
The splashscreen is displayed right after that but yeah I did try to disable it and it didnt make a difference.
Not a big issue really just annoying.

whats the lowest voltage people have managed to run at stock mhz?
Completely showing my ignorance now and how I've lost touch with PC gaming, given the tweaks being made to the reference cards via software and drivers, how do you approach an AIB card... Install the bundled drivers? Install AMDs latest? Are the tweaks from an AIB point of view on the cards video bios opposed to in drivers etc?

Quick tests:
GTA V - MSAA off but most settings high / very high - 55 - 65fps
Witcher 3 - High settings - 40-50fps
If you have a x34 freesync, it's not too bad a card as it stays in freesync range

looks like i lost in the silicon lottery again... lol
you wont get good overclocker from reference in first waves, these are probably what's left from AIBs pick for high end custom cards.

true, this is the first time ive rushed out and bought a card on release day, but then ive been waiting for over a year for something.

Manufacturing of the silicone is not refined enough yet to expect high overclocks in my opinion.
Here is a portion that API test, but no DX12 because I still refuse to upgrade to Windows 10, more out of principle than anything else at this stage. But isn't this more of a CPU thing?

Well this was interesting to see, I just checked for fun but apparently the RX 480 is not compatible with Windows 10...

Looks like mine is 1330 core and 2200 ram stable.
Will do some more tests to check this is stable in other games etc.
I tried 1340 and it froze during Firestrike.
