If you do not mind running a custom profile in afterburner for the fan, I would probably say the Zotac AMP Extreme. It has a huge cooler that keeps the temps and noise down and if you are lucky out of the box 2000MHz core speed

ZOTAC 1070 AMP! Extreme Edition

I got this on the 26 july and it's a great improvement over my old Asus 670 that I got back in summer 2012.
I tried maxing out games like Dying Light, XCom 2 and Killing Floor 2 and they run great!

It even came with a new mouse just to make sure I can handle the new power

A wee heads up for those looking at the Gaming X, apparently MSI has began the cheaping out process by releasing Gaming X batches with Micron GDDR5:

So a word of warning to anyone considering the MSI GTX 1070 "Gaming", they're using micron GDDR5 and apparently (haven't checked the IC's for M# yet) the IC's seem to be running pretty close to max at the stock 8Ghz; can't even get +175 stable on the memory OC compared to the Samsung based cards.

Mine shows Samsung and does +600 without issues, pretty sure the vast majority of Gaming X cards ship with Samsung chips.

Yeah, have no doubt most released ones so far do, but just thought I'd make peeps aware that after the initial launch manufacturers sometimes start using cheaper vram modules and afaik Samsung is the best modules to use.

I've heard about Micron chips being used in some regular Gaming models but I don't know whether there's even such a thing. I thought there's only Armor, X and Z :confused:

Edit: Yeah, also think that early batches sometimes have better quality components, being an early adopter pays off occasionally

So...below 50c I get 1961MHz, @50c I get 1941 and @60c I get 1936, and sometimes the clock is all over the place, sound right ?

Mine sits at 1911Mhz pretty much constantly. It occasionally drops down a bit on less demanding scenes.

Pretty much same story here - sits at 1911MHz most of the time very occasionally dropping down 1893 or 1897 or whatever it is with reason power limit.

I'm assuming it's purely down to Pascal ?....cos I never seen clocks all over the place before , with my 980 I would get 1354 from start to finish

Compared to other GPUs I have/had the 1070 is running quite close to the power limit much of the time which seems to cause some clock degradation.
