Just fitted ekwb block onto my EVGA 1080FE and installed.

At idle temp is 27 deg. As benchmarking noob, can anyone advise good way to bench card under load - game for 20 mins, download 3dMark/firestrike?

Also installed EVGA Precision, but I dont find the interface intuitive. Is there a quick/easy way to OC the card?

Many thanks

In EVGA Precision I maxed power limit to 120% and temp limit and applied, , reran heaven benchmark, dont see any change in GPU clock speed (around 1950 something). Any ideas?

you need to increase the clock speed of the gpu using PX in 100mhz increments until it crashes using stock volts, then increase the volts on the right hand slider in PX in small increments until you find the maximum OC of the GPU.

Thinking of buying the EVGA Hybrid kit for my 1080, it totally transformed my TX last time round.
Not been keeping up to date does any-one know if aftermarket bios with increase volts have been released yet for the 1080 under water?

And to liquid cooled 1080 owners what clocks are you running?

problem is, the 1080 classified with a cherry picked chip under LN2 tops out at 2.5ghz so even with a custom bios going above 2.1ghz is going to be a rocky road.

So my card runs around 2020/2088 depending on the game @ 72c, I'd like a see a stable 2150 and not move around on the core speed, this isn't doable with a custom bios? I know it was a problem back in June just wondering if any-ones found a way round it yet.

Nothing wrong with them O/C's at all in SLI, some people struggle to keep them solid with a single card. I'd perhaps drop it back a bit more than -5 on the core to future proof, along will come a game pritty soon and you'll hit another crash. I'd drop down to 2040 and leave it at that for a 24/7 O/C.

I thought this was how GPU Boost 3.0 worked. I saw on r/nvidia that all you had to do was max the power and temp limit and the card would boost to it's highest stable clock. However, mine was stuck at 1947Mhz, on occasion boosting to (iirc) 2002Mhz. I upped the clock to +50Mhz and left the memory at stock which is stable now. No change in temps either.

FWIW the auto overclock on PX didn't work for me (v6.0.3).

@Gee - as well as maxing the power and temp limit, I set offsets as follows:

GPU +200
Mem +500

First time ever clocked GPU. Card stable with GPU 2100Mhz, Mem 5500Mhz, maxed out at 47deg during Heaven benchmark with score of ~3060

I think the above clocks are good??? (EVGA 1080 FE with EKWB full block)

Be careful of your memory. It has very good error correction and will be applied for a few 100Mhz before the memory crashes due to speed.

You might find that 5300Mhz gives faster banchmark results than 5500Mhz as at 5500Mhz more than 10% of the results are coming back as errors and have to be corrected giving you a slower effective memory speed of 5000Mhz if that makes sense?

the only way to find your max memory is increase it by 100Mhz at a time and rerun the benchmarks and as soon the benchmark starts reducing, back it off 50Mhz.

Hi agree I, much appreciate your feedback as Im new to this. I performed multiple Heaven benchmarks, leaving gpu at +200 and incrementally increasing mem by 100. Each time score improved.

Appreciate what you say regards mem correction when having further play around and upping gpu/mem further, seeing detrimental score effect.

Looks like I did ok in silicon lottery, being under water certainly benefits.

Tks

I'd be happy with 2000/5300 in sli and settle for slightly lower temps and noise knowing its stable.
