i'll probe again before my fleet gets there, currently he's just got 1 battleship some probes and some satellites...

This recycling is gonna take a while, 15 minutes per way, getting 20k per go, and there is over 900k there...
 
Greetings. A refugee from Oc-PS here - I started playing in Uni 7 last Friday when someone mentioned this game over on Oc-PS. Then I realised that I'm pretty much on my own alliance-wise, so I started up in Uni 3 yesterday, and I've just sent an application to T.N.G:

Home Planet: "Bob" 1:239:4

Currently running:

Metal 9
Crystal 7
Solar 8

...building all those 3 basics up to around 12, then crash-start the Deuterium and research so I can go a-raiding.

I've also started in Uni 8 this morning (who says this game is addictive...) - my intention is to see how it goes and drop back to 2 accounts according to how well I do in each.

Any help appreciated!

Right, I did say I'd get those screenies of Commander up...
Reduced them a fair bit, shouldn't take longer than 30 secs to load the thumbnails for the slowdem users. (EDIT - In total)

Oh, and the skin is the Lambda skin, which is currently getting a facelift, and a few settings changed once I find out how. ;)

Empire View:

From here you can set buildings to build, see the amount of res on each planet etc.

Build Queue:

You can set up to 5 buildings in a queue... As long as you have the res, it will build.

Messages:

From here you have a weeks worth of messages.
You can just select whichever type of message you want, whether it be esp report, combat report, allied (circulars) etc.
Each one expands when you click on it... They auto show how many unread for each section too.

Hope this helps some of you who were hesitating over £5 for 3 months. :p
 
That does look good, i use the same skin btw, what modifications are you planning on doing?

Also, with the skin do you have it on your hard drive or on some webspace, i had it on the hard drive at first but i couldn't get it to work, tried my webspace and it worked so it's on there atm...

EDIT: Bah, he'd moved his fleet and spent most of the resources by the time i got there, only got ~12k deut :(

Changing the center formatting for notes & msg's.
Prefer left hand justified.

Get through ALL of the planets. The standard ones with Lambda looked pretty poo to me. So swapping them round, either one by one or a job lot if there are some good ones on another skin.
(I never said that I'd be doing it all from scratch!! ;) )

And generally playing abou with it.
Also going to try adding the IRN and Terraformer pics too.
(They reference gif's... So theoretically, just place the right size of pcs in there)

It's really awkward to use local skins on multiple PC's. (I get about quite a bit.)

For testing, and new pics etc, I'll just do them locally.
Once happy, then upload the lot. :)
 
Grrr. Had a message from someone who's said he's going to attack me and wipe out my defences. After checking him out, he's ranked about 350, got 70k points (compared to my 9k), and is a member of the Elite Alliance, one of the top ones. All this because I raided one of his friends. He can wipe out my defences if he likes, he won't get my fleet or my res, and I'll simply rebuild afterwards. Pain in the proverbial though. If he's going to attack me he'd better hurry up, I don't fancy waiting around wondering when he's going to do it.

Oops didn't see this. Nevermind then, I always thought the Metal-Crystal Duet was more like 6:3:1

It seems that the generally accepted standard is 3:2:1.

But if you want to trade with other ratio's you can. :)
(Say someone is really, really needing duet for example...)
 
Just out of curiosity, does a Sensor phalanx thingy actually tell you what is in the fleet, or just the fleets movements?

Hmm, there's a bit of an unfair gulf it seems once you're out of noob protection, can't say I'm looking forward to it.

When you come out of noob protection does it still show strong players in red or does everyone above you turn white as well?

13, 14 & 15. :)

But it's not a great raiding area due to the close proximity of Midget Gems.
1:450 downwards, or 2:0 upwards is outside the zone he defends.

Fine for a planet to expand tho - Only been probed 3 times.
(Once by someone who had been inactive for a while... ;) )
 
hmm dunno what to do, going away tomorrow morning, have tightened up defence quite a bit and got my sensor phalanx on route, but dont know whether to go on vacation or risk leaving everything till i get back sunday afternoon.
 
Do you get probed often?
If not, then the chances of attack are minimal.

Just get all of the res from all planets into the fleet, and send it at 10% to T.N.G and back. :p

If you get probed more than once a week, then there is a bigger chance.
Really depends on how busy your system is.
 
The only danger I can think of is if you have a moon nosey gits might get a little curious at what sort of resources you have. Although you could also say that having a moon would mean people will be to scared to probe you...

Putting it simply, it's a gamble, one that I personally would take. Just move your fleet to the T.N.G with all your resources, perhaps lower the mining levels to make it a less interesting target and you should be fine.
