Twas a sunny day for a change, so I grabbed my kit and went for a wander in Liverpool. I had a couple of shots in mind that I'd been wanting to do since I got my 10-20. Annoyingly because its so wide I kept getting flair, so I had to think and thankfully thinking gave me better shots :D It was nice to just wander around and spot things.

Considering some of them are 25 and 30 second exposures, I suspect a tripod came into play ;)


Great shots Pete.

Especially the ones inside of the inside of the cathedral.

4, 5 and 9 are my favourites (in that order)
 
Thanks guys :) I think every shot was taken with a tripod. I like to use f/22 a lot for the star effect with lights. Its nicer than just a blob of haze :)

Occasionally you can but last night it was fine. It was only 6ish, not really late and the middle of the week.

must be risky anywhere I reckon!

I really want to have a go at some of this but would get a little embarrased standing there with a tripod an all that looking like a geek! :o

Still I gotta do it if I wanna play! Would be better to go with someone I reckon
 
Oh yeah you really do have to just get out there. Sure standing around with my camera, as everyone in rush hour traffic in cars and buses watched me, was a bit odd but once I started seeing the images on the display I was in the zone.
 
Some truly superb shots there......it's always rewarding when you get out for a shoot and it results in a clutch of decent shots. Not a lot to choose between them, in that they're all great quality, but I'm particulalrly liking 3, 8 and 9. Something stangely appealing about the traffic lights with all three lights lit........
 
Great shots Pete. The first one looks like it has an evil face!
I also think the puddle ones are very creative. :)

I like number 3 most of all. Have you got a copy before you desaturated it? I would have imagined it'd look better with some colour. (Probabaly wrong though or your wouldn't have done it?)

#8 is also really good. It looks pretty good having all 3 of the lamps on the traffic lights lit. Was that intentional?

An impressive set of photographs :)
