Is Oblivion meant to look like this?

the darker mods pack is essential

http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=3713

makes the nights darker if there is no moon, the dungeons are now dark so u actually need torch to see you way around in some parts of them , add no end of tension to game to be creeping about in the blackness to hear the shuffling of a skeleton comming up behind you!

Im not too keen on these darker mods. With the lighting mods etc Im using it already gets darker in buildings etc. As the dungeons are mazes in thier own rights, I dont want to miss things because I cant see :D

Here's some screenies of my Oblivion.

I use

uGridsToLoad=7
uInterior Cell Buffer=16
uExterior Cell Buffer=102
iPreloadSizeLimit=209715200
and the multicore tweaks.

1600x1200 Res. HDR, 2x AA, 16x HD AF and Quality Adaptive AA.

Mods I use:
Armour of the Grey Fox
Better Night Sky
Landscape LOD Normal Map Fix
Improved Lava
Cyrodiil Terrain Map
Better Horse Eyes
Sunlit Interiors
Illumination Within
Kafeis Better Ring Replacer
Better Gold
Natural Faces
Landscape LOD Texture Replacement
Tamriel VWD
Book Jackets
Badmagic Chrome Dwarven Set
Natural Environments
Crowded Roads

Texture packs installed in this order (not sure if they're conflicting, its a pain, they all have bits I like :():
Capt Kill's 4096x4096 Borderlands Texture Pack
Capt Kill's 4096x4096 Texture Pack v2
Capt Kill's Non-tiling Landscape Texture Pack (really liked this one, but think its partially been overwritten by Qarl's)
Jarrod's Oblivion Texture Pack inc Patch
Qarl's Texture Pack 2
(used bsa programme at this point)

I might be using some bits there that are actually conflicting, so if anyone knows if anything would be, please let me know, as I want this game to look the best it can, but I dont want different packs making some bits looking great and other parts corrected by other packs looking cack.

I cant beleive the difference the mods have made, Oblivion looks even more stunning. Wish i hadnt played it to death on the 360 :)

heheh, the res and aa etc does kill my system a bit, but it does LOOK awesome, so I put up with the occasional texture stutters and slowdown, because after being underenthralled by the standard version, by the time the mods have got through with it, it finally looks like a half baked PC game, not a console conversion, albeit the native console being fairly powerful.

Am probably gonna try the BT mod for menu improvements next.

I mostly used
www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Oblivion
the sites it links to (tessource.net etc)
and googled a few others I liked the look of.

Now got Dark UI /w BT mod installed, and I love the new colour scheme and improvements (dark crimson :)), and its companion mod, Dark UI Loading Screens

Yeah, the UI changes make a big difference for me. I really recommend trying out the DarNified configs included with Dark UI as well, they make some very nice improvements on top of the lovely color scheme and what not. You can see some examples on the site:

http://privat.bluezone.no/darn/oblivion/guide/

but everything you need was included in the Dark UI download if you take a look.

Have also installed the Burning Kvatch menu background movie. Think it makes a nice change from the original scrolling map, and the colour scheme it creates on the main menu suits Dark UI more. Cant find any more replacement movies to try though :(

-Edit, am currently fully reviewing my INI, and mods. Will show you the new settings and revised ini settings etc as soon as they're done :)
