X³: The Reunion

Installed this last night and spent about an hour just learning the ship controls and messing about really. Didnt do a lot but thoroughly enjoyed playing about. The scenery is stunning and its nice to see proper big capital ships and others just going about their business...

Its even better when you get a pirate fleet come in to a sector and engage the military... Big fights and you can really see the M1s kick in to action...

im busy on the 'farnhams legend' mission but i think i need a better ship, since this buster keeps getting bashed up and i only have 4000 credits, what i need is a quickish, effective way of making money, thats why i asked about mobile mining, do i have to fly the transporter or not? can i alter my ships weapon loadout and such, buy new guns, if so where?

To be honest, one thing I love about this game is you can go in and out of missions as you please.

If you don't like the buster. Sod it. Don't do the mission, take it around to shoot other Pirate Busters. Make them eject and claim the ship. Do this four or five times. Collecting a lot of ships. Sell them all and buy a mofo Nova with big shiny **** off guns.

was tempted to do a bit of honest pirating i must admit, is there any upgrades i can get my ships to make it more effective in combat, like aim-assist program or something, like the one you get on the transport ship turret with that mission you do for noah, since the guns aren't what you'd call accurate and the enemy ships are usually moving quite some speed, but yeah i desperately need better ship and a way of generating money, can i buy and fly transport ships? if so are they armed enough to defend themselves against pirates and such?

To get something like an aim assist, just press K. then all you have to do is wait until the cross hair turns blue and fire and it will track the ship

Gashman, if you want ships, just shoot them and they will eject. Even if they're your freinds, make them eject anyway. Sure you'll loose rep, but you can gain this in the future.

the problem is, i don't have manual so i have no idea how to get automated traders going, i assume i need transport ship or something to get AI to trade between systems or something along those lines, trade something in somewhere that doesn't have much of that something, but how do i do this?

I get this for free on my press steam account, worth the DL time? (I am being honest about the press steam account, get it through a site I own)

It's worth it just for the shiny beautiful graphics!
I'm gonna have to read a guide for this game, I got really into X1 but I found this pretty damn hard at the start. From the sounds of things this is quite normal though and once you get into it, it is an awesome game.

Ive just started to dl this off steam im a bit anxious as from what ive been reading it sounds very complicated i could do with a noob guide, ive looked on there forums but the guides seem to overcomplicate it could anyone here help :)

Its currenly at 16%@ 500KB/s

I've read a lot about the update to 2.0.0.2 allowing players a second chance at buying Avarice if they missed it first time round.

However...

What is the situation if the game is started from 2.0.0.2? Do you only get the one,yet more balanced chance to buy/win it or will you eventually get another chance later on in the game?

I dont think there is much chance of me getting the cash together to buy it if it comes up as early as some say (24 hours play or thereabouts)...
