X³: The Reunion

I'm getting cheesed off

I've got two factories. An Ore Mine and a BioGas Factory. They are both placed in an area where demand for those products is there. Thiers atleast two stations that need Ore in the sector, and atleast four that need BoGas from my BioGas factory in the other sector.

WTF

They both do make money but very very slow. And slowly by slowly I find my personal funds going down. I had 1.2mil now i'm down to 600,000! What am I doing wrong?
Both factories need Energy cells. So I've got a transporter each at both stations that are constantly getting Energy Cells.

THATS SUCH A HASSLE!

How can I say to the transporters to constantly get energy cells no matter what, return home and then get it again? I can't, I seem to have to do "Buy Ware" all the bloody time!

And I always NEED to check my stations! I always need to change how i'm selling stuff for etc. It's a bloody pain. Can't the guy who runs the bloody station change the price accordingly?

I was much happier with this game when I had no stations.

You need to be planning for station complexes, rather than individual stations. Once you have a self-sustained complex it will not need constant attention, and will rake in the cash. As for your money going down, you won't see profits from the stations until they have filled their hulls with energy cells and whatever other resources they need.

For the time being, I suggest building a L space-fuel factory in elanor's fortune. Set the sale price to 1c below average and you won't need transports to sell. As you get more cash, add a L wheat farm and a M-SPP, then a silicon mine (on a decent rock) and a crystal fab, then a cattle and a beef farm. Your complex will now be self-sustaining and won't need transports at all. You can use the transports you had for your next complex.

These things take lots of time to build up, but they're ultimately very worthwhile. If you're not going to build up a full complex, try to import smaller more valuable items, like crystals to supply a SPP. Buying in energy cells is hard work unless you're in a system with lots of power (like ore belt or the wall).

Could anyone be kind enough to give me the co-ordinates for the South Gate in Unknown Sector which is immediately left of Maelstrom (which is literally bottom right of the X Universe).

Cheers.

it's really not dificult to find with the sector map, more or less where you'd expect it be.
but watch out for squash mines (which always seem to get me on the way back.

the way to get the bounty your after is. fly a super fast ship (with weak weapons and shield) in to the bounty. then order a big ship with docking facilities to jump in and pick you up. jump back out to safety. granted you'll need to have built up quite some fleet to do it this way, but it does make it a doddle :)

I have recently installed the Xenon migration and race response fleets scripts, but I am finding that there are some invulnerable Xenon ships being created in every Xenon sector I visit. There are a small number of Ns, Ms and one or two Ls in every Xenon sector now and I can't destroy them even with the LV cheats script. Its annoying as my ships will waste loads of laser energy on them and they seem to regain a little hull strength after a while as well.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

HELP!

Help me! I just finished the main story line (not the Bala Gi missions) and just got that rank to buy Argon Cap Ships.

Now here where the problem lies. My Argon Status is going down. WHY?!? :p
It's gone from 0% (the one up) down the the previous rank to 95%.

What am I doing wrong?
All i'm doing is trading with my stations and shooting pirates?

Help me please :)

I've got about 7 Million in the bank. I need to raise 30 or so mills to get an Argon Trading Station. I'm thinking, with that 7 mill to build a self sufficient Solar Power Complex in Argon Prime.

Good idea or bad?

Edit: Can't do it in Argon Prime I need a Silicon Asteroid. I'll do it Ore Belt. Same question. Good or bad?

I decided to try and setup my first complex last night. Decided to join a wheat farm and space fuel distillery. It joined ok although the angles were messed up so the tubing was all over the place but at least i'm getting the hang of it.

I didn't bother saving because it was only a Wheat Farm M to a Space Fuel Distillery L so its not practical. I'm thinking of restarting as the god engine seems to have removed several key factories from the face of the universe. Plus i'll relocate to one of the other areas of space (ditching argon prime area) and setup in another section where things are a little more active.

Question: What price does everyone sell their Space Fuel at so AI traders dock?

This post is acting as a secret bump to the official thread as well but dont tell anyone :p

Theres not a set price that works, seeing as the economy in the game is compltely dynamic. You'll have to figure it out for yourself im afraid. :).

Just set the price one below average and you will never keep space fuel or weed in stock.

I wouldn't bother restarting because of the GOD engine moving stuff around, its going to happen anyway. Add another Wheat Farm M to your distillery so its a bit more efficient.

I didnt save after i made the complex because i knew it was inefficient. I'll be reloading from before i set it up and will travel to Light of Heart to get a Wheat Farm L and tie that to a large distillery so it runs at 100% efficiency. Eventually i'll get a second wheat farm L and distillery and attach them to the same complex once i have the funds. I have 10 million credits at themoment and an M6 Centaur with a small group of UT's. Just got to pick a location for the complex as i know that a distillery can be placed almost anywhere and still sell out.

With the majority of high-end products, you will sell if you set the price one below the average (the price that the trading stations use).

With space fuel, you can sell at any price, but at one-below average you should always sell faster than you can produce.

Decided to have a bit of fun earlier. Loaded up my second game where i have a buster sentinel and a discoverer L and 1.7 million credits, thats it. Flew to Company pride in my buster and decided to have fun with the pirate base there. Took out the two laser towers that were guarding the base, took a while but was pretty easy considering i was always at low energy. After that i decided to shoot thebase itself.

After a few minutes my 5 fighter drones ended up flying into the base and dying, so i thought, hell with it, told my Discoverer to come and give me a hand. After he arrived he survived roughly 2 minutes until he flew into the station as well, stupid prat. 30 minutes of shooting the station with an APAC and a BPAC the shields of the base were gone, sadly the hull was just too much as the health wasn't even dropping (unless i was using the wrong weapons lol) so i gave up.

I like Teladi ships more than any other race because they look so cool. So i'm gonna work towards upping my Teladi rank (my main game has terrible Teladi rank (was shooting pirates in my Centuar and a few shots accidentall hit a Teladi station, boom, my good rank instantly turned into an enemy, doh! So i think i'll keep going on my second game. Just gotta up my standing enough to use teladi ships and start placing stations and complexes. Plus i've discovered about 80% of the universe in that game and most of my stations in the other game dont make any money.
