Heya guys.

My friend told me this was the place to go if i didn't really know what i should get, i'm basically getting a little amount of money at the end of this year off my parents to buy a new computer. They said i could spend 2-3 thousand.

Can anyone spec me a super gaming computer XD. It will have to include a monitor mouse and keyboard.

Will also have to have vista software and a DX 10 compatible graphics card x2.

Also max the ram out as much as you can XD.

So go crazy guys XD i should be buying it in 1 month depending on when my check arrives XD

£3k is a-lot to spend! For less than £2k...

But new GFXs, mobos, processors, etc round the corner!

SLI/Crossfire is only worth it if you've got a high resolution monitor.

I would wait until closer to the time, as there's a lot of new parts coming out in the coming months.

No, the point we're making is that anything we spec now won't be what we spec once we know what's actually out when you come to buy.

I know you said you wanted sli, but with the next generation of GPU's around the corner theres just not any point buying 2 GTX's. SLI isnt compatible with a lot of games, and dosnt give cost beneficial benefits to performance.

As others have said though, wait for untill you actually have the cash to play with !

Run the two hard drives in Raid 1 or 0, 27" dell monitor is pretty awsome, you could buy a 30" with your budget if you like though.

Thanks Tim XD ya my parents are divorced and my mum apparently put money in a fund for me when i was a kid. She only told me last month but it comes out this year XD excited cause im a gaming fanatic but i cant play with my brother as he doesn't have a computer so im gonna buy a new one to play with him.

+ i want the new DX 10 so bad it is going to revamp my favorite game EVE-Online. Eye Candy XD

I think if I had that much to spend on a system in one go I'd be tempted to keep a few hundred for 6 months down the line when you've had it runnung for some time, you'll probably know then what little extras you would like to add to it.
Just a thought anyway

lol man thats not the whole amount im getting off my mum :) thats just how much im willing to spend on a computer for now XD should be around 8k :)

Gotta save about another 2k for my car insurance and tax though XD

Thanks david i added the vista and another graphics card so its x2 and il be buying it on thursday XD mum just agreed to let me buy earlier will the motherboard support 2 gfx cards ? just wondering sorry im such a noob at this stuff XD

(sorry, major oversight, p35 boards are just not the thing to get if you want dual graphics cards).

People generally arent massive fan's of them, but crossfire works on every game, not just si reliant ones, and they've performed better than GTX's in a few directx 10 games. Possibly just a little more power draining and noisier.

can u link the 2 gfx cards and the mother board which will work with the gear u added up top cause i have no idea what to choose. or if i decided just to use the above list will that ll work yes ?

I just added 2x the graphics card u had and that was it really the only change i made would that work work with the list u gave.

Just ignore Dual Cards, its a waste, period.

Just get a P35 Chipset board and a GTX.

Also get the 24inch Dell screen, the 27inch one is the same res as a 24inch screen but much more expensive.

Yeh the above list would all work together fine, choose the 64 bit vista version as 32bit wont support that much ram.

Id still suggest sticking to 1 gtx, as the new graphics cards coming out will probably be better performing than 2 graphics cards in sli would be, with less expenditure.

But if you must go for crossfire then that motherboard wouldnt be good enougth as it only has 1 pci-e card.
