Need Help Making Gaming Computer Budget 2-3k

lol its like : D, but apparantly peoples faces look more like "X"'s :confused:

Is rather overdoing it a bit though , easy to type mind.

EDIT: Guys how long is OcUK's delivery time ? normally

There pretty good, 2days tends to be enougth, working days that is.

Its basically a smiley faced with squinted eyes XD lol.

Cool 2 days is brill, are you able to pay for next day delivery as it will be Friday the next day so i dont have to wait over the weekend XD.

Does anyone know if that CPU cooler im getting has compound on the bottom to place over the top of the CPU or do u need the arctic silver compound.

EDIT: i also changed the processor to: Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6700 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.66GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

As its clock speed is abit faster. also i was wondering will that be enough to run anything for the time being XD

the q6600 would have been more than enough to run anything from the time being.
You could have just bought a cheaper graphics card and got one of the next gen, it will work out better. Eve isnt THAT much of a testing game is it?
Woulda ordered a x-fi that had the 64mb of x-ram onboard, just incase any games you do start playing will be supporting it in future.

Lucky bugger anyway for having that much to spend on a pc!

If my graphics card does get so easily outdated soon il just give it to my brother and buy a new one i guess that way he will be able to keep up with me abit i guess XD

Best off buying some arctic silver mate, its the best stuff there is, usually drops a few deg off anybodys temps..

I just dab a small amount onto the center of the CPU and then use a card to smoothen it out dont i. Once the cpu is all locked in place that is XD.

Can confirm that the tuniq 120 tower does come with thermal compound stuff.
Its grey and nasty looking, but seems to work well enougth on my computer.

Youd really pay £174 more for 260mhz faster processor ? Ill over clock the Q6600 to 2.7ghz for a measly £100

You wont need 2k-3K, but FFS wait till Nov and see if new high end parts arrive, thats a lot of cash to buy parts that are very very soon going to be superseded.

It's funny, it's always wait till this, no no wait till then! What you should have waited even more!

PC parts come down in price rapidly, and there's always going to be something new. Just buy the best PC you can for your money and enjoy it.

Not really, sure you can always wait, but its common sence if its 8-9 weeks away (suppose to be anyhow) wait and see, all you do is save some cash if you buy same hardware then as now.

or buy the best value for money that meets performance requirements, and buy another when theres a substantial difference between performance of the newest best value hardware

Computers will always be getting updated and being outdated XD your so right hehe. And im sure il enjoy it XD im still amazed at all the help i've got here lol its really something.

Think the point was more that sometimes its literally 2 weeks away that they will be getting a conciderable update, so sometimes it can be worth the wait, especially since price drops coincide with new hardware release

I would wait if its a couple of weeks but not more than like months as i have already been waiting a pretty long time. And i dont think my brother will keep his game subscriptions up longer if he cant play XD

I'm just worrying about handling the processor but i got a static band so it should be fine.

we are mid Aug, Nov is about 9-10weeks away, be a bummer if you can get by now on current Rig and did spend a wad of cash to regret so soon into future, being there, done it and got the T Shirt and not just with PC hardware.
