O and the second color i actually mixed my self because i couldnt find anything close to it. i just painted on a bottle to see how they would clash here it is. this will be the two theme colors

my gamer tag is voodoo so im hoping hat i can make a cutout in the button panel like the antec one but i dont know how to go about this, i heard that the dremel will melt the plastic, any suggestions???

Hey VooDoo

looking nice so far. you're right, the dremmel will melt the plastic. It's ok to use for big cuts as you can trim of the melted part one it sets again, but for detailed work you're gonna need a hand fret saw and a lot of time and patience.

If you've never used one before it's worth practicing on something unimportant first.

Another idea would be tomake a panel to fill the gap under the front IO power button panel and etch your tag into that. Pop a blue ccfl behind it and it'd look the muts nuts. you can use MS word to pick a font then print out templates ready for laying down as a guide.

Have fun and keep us posted.

sweet i got g-dubs attention...just who i wanted supervising. thanks for the tip i will look into the saw you speak of, or since im a sheet metal worker i might just fabricate a panel. so this is my first case mod, and i have never used the uv lighting. My question is what would be the the best 12" blue uv to get? and another thing im going to buy a sleeving kit but it doesnt match my color and i am going to paint it my color then put uv coating on top. the only uv paint that i can find is the "clearneon stuff", is it any good? is there better stuff out there??? Or is there a better method? And last but not least am i going to be an official member of the skeleton club when i finish?? lol jk

Just got the special blue paint i had mixed, i figured i would show you how it looked so far. all i have done is paint the inside of the cowling and edge the antec cutout to make i pop a little bit here are the pics.

thinking of puting uv over the blue to make it stand out under light.

like the colour and think the UV paint a good idea. you can cet one of the six inch ccfls under the cowling, attaching it with cable ties, which should light it up a treat.

Are you planning to do anything with the fan itself?

Intesting mod there VOoDOo, will follow this thread and see how it turn out, hopfully as good as the one G-Dubs did (sorry i mean two that G-Dubs did, hehe), good luck matey...:):):):)

Fair enough quip I spose as I do have something of an affection for this case.

"car boot" is mine also, just to show I do other stuff.

yea the paint has been a pain in the arse. I tried to put a clear gloss enamel on one of the arches, then it just turned into aligator skin. and i cant use a heavy duty thinner to get it off so im piling on the paint so that i can sand it even, thats why i has been soo long since a post. bu i did finish my console of glutony (ill post pics later this evening). and show you where this bruiser is going to call home.

EDIT* what is the car boot project? i dont think i have seen it.
i was thinking of lightly spraying the fan my blue color but im not sure. that or i can try to find a light blue replacemen led, and put the clear uv spray on top of the fan.

Hey all here are the pics i promised,

First up is the "Console of Glutony" freshly painted
100_3280.jpg

I made this console using the science lab table tops made out of hard (i mean very hard) compressed plastic, the kind you would find in an biology classroom, or labratory.
100_3281.jpg

Next up is the button panel i edged around the button holes just like i did the antec logo. i still need to finish though (few rough edges)

So now i guess i can show where the "console of Glutony" and my skeleton (still working on proper title for her) are going to call home.

THe skeleton is going to replace this POS sitting in here. notice the led's above that light the enertainment center, might replace the led with a ccfl for he skelly.

and here are some more random pics (for all those visual people like me)

plan to use the uv spray on all the parts as well

*EDIT* in case you were wondering the TV is a 58" Samsung pn58b650 along with a yamaha htr-5930 5.1 dts dd reciever, yes i watch a lot of movies (mkv's) from the pirate bay on there in full 720p DTS 5.1 @ 1509kbps, and yes it yes lovley. but it will be much better watching real blu-rays from he skelly once i get her done. O and games are run at 1080p watch the movies in 720p cuz i cant tell the difference because the mkv rippers on tpb have a very low bitrate, i guess other people dont like to dl 43Gig movies, me i dont mind.

the alligator affect you describe is most likely caused by a mis match of paint types or by contamination of the surface by oil, most usually from hands when sanding
I've had it myself a few times
only way to get rid is sand away as much as pos then re seal with a primer and start again

yea its annoying as hell, but i think im going to leave the cler coat off this time the black is glossy enough. got school tonight so no progress today. but i was thinking do yall' know of any clear uv spray other than the clear neon stuff???

Trying my hand at some cable managment tonight with limited success. I got some some wire heatshrink from autozone yesterday that matched my color almost perfectly so i figured i would give i a shot. worked ok for the smaller mobo connections bu couldnt get it around the blocks on the ends of the usb e-sata and others, so have to find alternitives for those. also painted the edges of the connections for he buton panel heres some pics.

and thats all i got for now, if you look close enough you can tell where i painted one of the wires, he he got a little carried away with the ligher! lol. that reminds me if any of you decide to do this.....use a heatgun!!! it will save your fingers and save you from painting the wires! loo

Not a fan of the fully heatshrinked cables I'm afraid, it'd look much better with braid IMO.

Other than that I love it so far though, the colour scheme is great.

im thinking the same thing but i cant find sleeving that is my color blue its all dark blue, and i dont think i can paint it because it will crackle. im looking for some alternitives now, and its been 3 hours!!! im geting worried i wont find anything.

You can get a Aquamarine blue sleeve from MDPC-X, the colour is pretty much the same as that heatshrink that you have been using. Go to there website and you can order some from there. Don't think their considered a competitor so yeah.
