Basically, I havnt bought it yet but im wondering if you thought it was better than what you expected? just as good as you expected? or worse?

Maybe make this into a poll with a better title aswell ?

:)

As good as I expected and had some nice little things that I really enjoyed. For some reason I haven't shut myself away to complete it and taking it nice and slowly. I thought I would be addicted to it, but it seems that isn't the case.

Is it as good as i anticipated 6 months before its release? Yes

Is it as good as the hype i stupidly fell for a week before release? No

Its good, no actually its great, but it isn't the 'best ever game' that many reviewers toted it as. It has its flaws but thankfully it outwieghs them in a big way with its strengths.

Once we get some proper OcUK XBL action going I will up my vote to surpasses my expectations.. what ive experienced of the online has been amazing.. just need more!

Good game but nowhere near great. All the 10/10 reviews were a joke and the hype was just silly.

Big let down for me on the PS3. Many surprising graphical issues, frame rate drops, lack of AA, low quality textures.

Does not have the same pull factor that VC + SA had after you completed the SP game. On those 2 you could always go back and find plenty of things to do. With 4 I felt that it was hard going to even complete having to sit through too many boring cutscenes and repeat similar mission types again and again to get the next part of the story to unlock.

If your a fan of the other GTA games then it is worth playing at least once but in a month it is easily forgotten.

Yep, what I expected. Overhyped, underwhelming and lacking originality. A good game, but lacked variation or any evolution, it was already known it had less of just about everything than San Andreas and it showed.

At first I thought it was a bit of a let-down, but that was too soon.

You need to play about 12-14 hours (won't put a spoiler in, so this is assuming you're doing the side-missions) before things get better.

Also, it's the little things that made me come around and think this game was worth the ratings. Watching people slump against the wheel if you shoot them as they're driving, the physics and the radio headlines that play according to the story. For example.

I voted "Yes, more than I expected" because I tried to avoid the pre-launch hype as much as possible :)

Just what I was expecting. I didn't overhype myself like most, nor rush through the storyline ignoring anything else. I explored, did other things and had a blast. I finished it last night with 70hrs played and I'd rate it a 9/10.

Options could be changed because the people who are saying they didnt like it probably never liked gta games.
I've noticed the opposite tbh.

Quite a few didn't really like GTA IV precisely because they liked previous versions so much (and felt IV didn't live up to the standards set or progress the series enough).
