The huge expansion of internet connected devices must offer them a great opportunity to market security solutions for all these devices. They probably also want to offer hardware based securty solutions so the expertise of Mcfee will be invaluable.

I'm sure intel can optimize it well for intel cpu's and maybe employ some people to work at a better detection rate.

You are correct! It is pretty bad at catching malware infections and recently hobbled computers by providing false positives.

McAfee are massive in the corporate world.

I would imagine Intel plan to integrate AV directly onto their CPU's or something along those lines.

McAfee is quite big.. Lloyds TSB use it, as do HBOS. I had to support. I am glad Intel bought it.. they can better it..
