I like the idea they are going for, namely you can't go round blasting a gun aimlessly. might make people actually band together, rather than the usual shoot on sight malarkey that these type of games normally inspire.

not much on the way of videos on youtube, at least not that I could find
 
DayZ Standalone seriously needs a release this year, there are so many games now that have identical themes and mechanics that it's going to arrive very late to the table.
 
I've seen live streams of this and I've had a staff member play it as well and to be honest it's warz with different creatures! The loot pick up is the same, many of the textures are similar, the packages are of similar variety to WarZ and the death screen is very similar. Not us but a lot of people have been calling this WarZ 2.0!

The cheating will also be really bad as one of our clan members pointed out that the developers believe in good faith that people wont cheat that much, that's saying something.

I've told many people on Steam in the sale to avoid this tripe

p.s This is the only game that has Bandages the size of rolled up towels! :p
 
Yup, lots of rumours apparently about the mysterious publisher and developer and an 'unknown number' of WarZ people working on it.

Given the horrendous monetisation of WarZ (buy bullets for real cash???) and their complete lack of interest in developing the game beyond any feature that would squeeze more cash out of the players, im going to pass.
 
Why are most zombie games rushed and utterly awful when there's no need for them to be?

Other than a select few, like resi and state of decay every zombie game is utter crap just doesn't make sense are zombies making these games? is that why they are so bad :p
 
I bought it but the jury is still out. Graphically its really nice, the map design seems really atmospheric. But servers are generally very laggy and this makes the game feel unsmooth for me. Need to play it a bit more but as War Z 2.0 this should be my type of game. It's in beta so I don't want to be too critical and early signs are good I'd say

Anyone else bought it?

The decisions they make, made my head hurt. The game could be the best ever the developers will still screw it up with bad management. Then say something like "But thats how it worked in Minecraft" yer but this isn't minecraft.

You could give these guys a diamond of a game to start off with, "they would still be able to polish it down into a turd"

Avoid like the plague.

I agree with you completely about War-Z and I've said the same things myself. But do you have any evidence that the staff previously worked on War-Z?

So this isn't Hammerpoint/OP Productions?
So I figured I'd look into some more stuff, since this company is going to crazy lengths to try to convince people that they're not Hammerpoint/OP Productions just rehashing WarZ and trying to bleed more money from Steam users while their last title, Infestation/The War Z just...dies...much like their title before it, The War Inc.

OP Productions LLC, is a registered company in Delaware...that shares the same mailing address as the "Corporation Trust Company" at 1209 Orange St., Wilmington, DE 19801. What The Corporation Trust Company is, is that they are a facilitator in creating Limited Liability Companies (LLC) in the state of Delaware. This is a fairly common practice in Delaware and Nevada, because it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy to do it. You sign some papers, pay your $50 and voila, you're a company. The only listed address for OP Productions LLC, the publisher of The War Z and Infestation: Survivor Stories is this 1209 Orange St. As "The Corporation Trust Company" also takes in mail for their LLC's for tax purposes and renewals. It doesn't help that 1209 Orange St. looks like a shut down newspaper shop.

Jump ahead and now we have "Nether Productions LLC." Much like OP Productions LLC, they too are a Delaware Company. Registered at 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. The same address as "Harvard Business Services Inc." Which much like The Corporation Trust Company, is a facilitator and registrar for Delaware Corporations. HBS is a nice little office on some out of town backwoods dual carriage way on the atlantic coast of Delaware. Much like OP Productions, this not their actual mailing address. But HBS merely takes in mail to keep their LLC alive every year like they do for all of their clients.

In my searching, I could actually find no mailing or contact address for either Nether Productions LLC or OP Productions LLC.

Now being a Delaware LLC or a Nevada LLC isn't necessarily bad, nor is it even illegal necessarily. Many major companies do it. The difference is, it makes it incredibly simple to not only create a shell company within a relatively short amount of time but also shelter the ownership.

Assigned to an Arktos Entertainment Group LLC. Arktos, the original developer of "The War Inc." Which went ♥♥♥♥ up some time in like 2010 and eventually given over to GamersFirst for Free to Play horribleness. The War Inc was a predecessor to The War Z. His only 3 filed trademarks are all associated with a team or teams that were directly responsible or allegedly responsible for The War Z/Infestation.

Isn't that neat?

So while Nether's explanation for this is as follows:

"But what about the copyright? This is commen as game developers use specific lawyers to do this. We are a smaller development studio so we dont have someone on staff to do Copyright claims, so why not outsource this?"

Sensible...except they've managed to outsource it to the one person who has absolutely no other registered trademarks associated to them except for those previously associated with Arktos or Hammerpoint.

PS. Deleting this won't make any difference, as I'm forwarding it to other outlets. I'm certainly not a detective or a pro in this whole corporate registration and trademarks world. But I'm sure the other people I send this to will have more luck.

Or I could pay the $40 to the State of Delaware registrar's for the complete filing of each of the two LLC's. But I'm kind of cheap.

A) the game has same slot amounts for weapons and items at start. Why?

B) the face masks and the like are pretty much the same if looked at as what you can buy in marketplace in WarZ. Why?

C) the game assets in some places like vehicles are the same but reskinned. Why?

D) and finally Why is the placeholder male model the same as the beta placeholder that was for the male in WarZ?

Same textures used in WarZ (vehicles) are being used in this
Same original grass textures from the original WarZ are in this
Same loot pick up timer
Same melee holding animation as WarZ

Similarities to the death screen camera
Some of the developers are from WarZ

Similarities in packages to WarZ
