nether....A zombie/mutant type mmo sort of thing!!

The Witch hunt against Hammerpoint/OP Productions is pathetic.

Seems to be a a few nerds with no life beyond their computer screen.

Their business practices are no worse than E.A/Activision.

They make games, what are they supposed to do, never make any forever more in fear of this mob?

I'm completely against you on this Gimpymoo and I've never been before on this forum!

It's well deserved may they rott and their company close up! Coming from someone who has spoken to the head developer of WarZ, I know his very personality, he is scum

This is very much a case of you reap what you sow.

They have hidden the fact their WarZ 2 - why? Theyre worried about the bad rep that goes along with that - why? Because they promised the earth, delivered the pits then monetised the hell out of it.

Really, if you're going to pay £23 for an early access to a game that will in all likelihood have a cash shop selling medikits and bullets theres a reason the developers were trying to hide that info from you.

I understand they may well be a bunch of **** bags, BUT, Activision and E.A do it all the time, they make games, it is what they do.

From a business perspective, can you blame them for covering up their identity if they have? Not saying it is right though, please dont misunderstand me on that.

Even before WarZ was released and before they had even had time to do anything "evil", their was already a witch hunt against them pretty much because they recycled an engine from a previous game, this happens in the industry all the time.

Sure, I did not purchase WarZ and I know you did so I respect your comments are more representative than mine, but as an outsider looking in, the above is what I see.

I bought this and have played it a bit, too many games on the go right now.

Yes there are similarities to war z, reading this thread made me think about it and I have to admit is all looks quite similar. However, for all that there are differences too, Nether uses the Unreal engine not War Z's Eclipse.. And the customer service from Nether is on another level entirely to what we saw from HP. I was very impressed with them, getting a personal email reply in 10 minutes in the middle of their night.

Now it could be that they are indeed a "small team from Chicago" and they ripped off some elements from War Z, which was a good game, but badly implemented and managed. But If it turns out though that I have just given Sergei any more of my cash, then ill put my foot through my monitor and send him the bill :D

I really think the dev team is different. It looks like a lot more care has gone into the map design etc. I too emailed support and received a response within 2 hours which imo is pretty good. It's been 3 months and counting and still no response from War Z support!! ahaha

Makes a nice change from zombies tbh, the map is freaking amazing and full of objects. Few screenies of my play time today. More I play the more I freaking love it.

It is expensive for a beta mind, in fact am not sure you can call it a beta. Some of the silly bugs I have seen it should really be an Alpha. But hey it is pure PvP and a good laugh. Not sure how long it will last but I will probs stick with this now until standalone. Some of the textures are a bit meh but with the map size and 64 players I guess they have to be.

looks good graphically but have they given any assurances around monetisation? £23 is a lot to pay for early access especially if you have to buy bullets on top.

Of course it's early days and things can change, but the in game dollars can be used for food, weapons, ammo etc and only cosmetic items are sold for real money ( gold coins or whatnot). I believe you keep those gold coin items if you die.

Unlike war z, you can sell all the items you find to NPCs, so there is more of an economy. The GI space is also very limited which encourages you to sell the spare items for dollars.

In my very short playing I found lots of food, ammo, melee weapons, couple of guns and meds and lots of shop fodder items.

Jeez I struggle to find anything tbh. I just found my first gun after about 3 hours of playing today :/ Maybe certain servers have rubbish loot or when players take stuff it takes to long to recycle the loot.

I was on super low pop Asia servers just nosing around the map. Shops, gas stations and supermarkets were best. A lvl30 guy told me spawns are slow though.

The guns I found by military vehicles and crates.
