@Aleksandrs - sorry to hear that the drawers fell apart ! to be fair, i've had a few of these flat packed things in the past, and i forget the number of times i have swapped cardboard back panels for hardboard ones for added rigidity and hardboard bases for thin plywood and better fixings to stop exactly that scenario or added small cross braces to stop the base bending and popping out of the slots

@hellarda - love the use of the books to raise all the speakers up to a height over your monitors :D ...... got enough speakers btw ? (and get that cable mess sorted lol)

well books absorb the vibrations from the speakers, and you don't want vibrations in a studio environment.

err if you count all the speakers in each enclosure theres 26...... :p

yes i will at some point, but i don't have time atm, and whenever i try and tipy them up they just end up untidy again

quick update, got my krk Rokit 8's :D

*snip*

Those rokits are huge! I have some of their little babies :p

The clarity is superb and they are really flat but I may need to invest in the KRK sub for a little more bass.

Good old Vika AMON desk tops for £13 each, just a shame that the layout of my room/bed restricts me as I would love a big long bench with all my gear on.

Cheers for all the above comments!! :)
It's only recently looked neat since my room was re decorated and I made the trip to ikea :p

My PC case is the Silverstone FT02-W.

My decks I've had for years but only recently started using them more again. Music wise I tend to mix anything electronic on them as it's easiest :D I like anything though ranging from electronic to rock and even some classical stuff ;)

With regards to soundcloud, nope I haven't anything on there as of yet but would hope to at some point! I actually only just got my novation controllers at christmas and production is totally new to me. I've had a little play with fruityloops and reason in the past but currently trying to learn ableton as that works best with the automap midi software.

The ipad is great for some of the music apps, especially the korg emulators and can be recorded directly into a mix on the mac.I also have limited space for another monitor so AirDisplay lets me use the ipad as one. I actually thought I would regret buying an ipad and not use it much but I actually love it and it gets regular use.

Excellent choice in getting the KRK monitors, you really need to get some monitor isolation pads like thesehttp://www.auralex.com/sound_isolation_mopad/sound_isolation_mopad.asp

yeh i know, i also need to put some foam on the walls cos i get a ridiculous amount of reflections atm :(
R5GTT: nice setup! yeh the rokits sound brilliant, very flat, the reason i went for the 8's was because i know that the smaller ones (5's and 6's etc) only have small drivers, so cant do the low frequencies as well. The krk sub will definitely give enough bass, ive heard one and the frequency response and the amount that it can deliver is phenomenal !
